You're not alone Wor-Gar...I was really hoping for the annonucement tonight...especially after following this jumble thread...I was hoping to see a preview of Boromir. It's too bad SS is working the LOTR line so slowly in favor of the SW line. Hopefully the pace will pick up soon...

Well Fett, since you and I both have Indy gifs, a second cousin to SW, its no wonder SW is getting more attention.

I was fully expecting to come home to see a 12" Borormir announcement but to say that I was mildly pleased with what I got would be the understatement of the year! :D :D :D :D :D

Still, here's to Borormir next week.

Strangely, I didn't even want a Boromir before that damn puzzle was solved... now I'm pissed it wasn't announced. Obsessed am I?

My plan was to get the Fellowship of 5: Frodo, Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli. That was it...until the bad guys. I had it all set, my shelves are ready, everything was good. But now, I'm pining for Boromir.

What has SS done to me :monkey2

Well much as I would love Boromir and am eager to complete the fellowship, I want Faramir much, much more than he. Nobody surpasses Faramir in my list of favorites, so despite the fact that I'm pretty sure it is Boromir, I still would prefer Faramir anyways.

I always wondered about that, specifically because Ben Wooten is also listed. Wooten is seemingly one of the "big-wig" sculptors, so did SS not approve of his work? What exactly did Oluf do!?
I thought while I was around I would answer this question...I sculpted the Portrait (see my website) and a new set of boots for the Boromir statue while I was working in New Zealand at Weta. While I was there I also sculpted the figures for the "No Admitance" book ends and a portrait of another statue which has never been released.
Good question and thanks for letting me answer.:D

I think it's universally accepted that the Boromir portrait is one of the best of the SS/W statues, so here's hoping Oluf is also working on the SSC 1/6 or PF portrait!

And welcome to the board!

I'll second all of that!!

What I want to know now is what was the piece that wasn't released?

But of course!!!!! :google  :monkey5

Thanks for your answer Oluf, it is a pleasure to have you aboard. The NA bookends are amazing, they house my LOTR DVD's.

If it was a PF Boromir i'd love to see him posed sounding the horn of Gondor, that is by far my favourite part of the fellowship.

Initially set out to get the PF's but saw the 12" and there is no way back now.

I can't see sideshow portraying any of the minor characters in the PF form, i.e. MOS, MOA and UHSS.

When you think about the volume of characters in all the films and the fact that 2 - 3 will be released a year, I just really can't see it happening IMO.
