I started buying these for my nephew. I was surprised how cool they were. Very well done. I bought alot from 2nd Sellers at Amazon for fairly cheap, $5 & under. Also got the Neca Balrog for him to go with the figures, that thing was huge. Still looking for a Cave Troll but most people want $80 and my nephew will be playing in the dirt with it. Gotta stick with the Cheap Figures.

From time to time I think about collecting these, but I resist the urge. I would have to have them all and that would be very expensive since there's so many.

I'll try to post some pics later today (I finally took my lot out of storage and have them on display again) as I bought as many of the Uruk-Hai etc. to eventually build a nice Helm's Deep display.

Edit: Here's my collection (most of it) out of storage...

I just started collecting these. They are great! A LCS near me has a bunch of stuff on clearance sales so I have been picking up stuff as I find the spare cash! LOL

DarthNeil...those are some GREAT collection shots! Love the displays!

Think you need a few more Uruk-hai though! LOL!

DN: What, No Mumuk/Pelennor Fields gift set? ;)

I have a Warg and Rider if you want it?

Darth, is there any that you don't have that you want?

Well, I'm by no means a completist with this collection (they've been in storage for a few years) but I suppose the one character that I never got but looking back I maybe should have is Grima.

Oh indeed... If it was going to be a full blown Helm's Deep display-- :lol but I'm looking at more specific sections (like Haldir on top of the wall with Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli).

Thanks, but like I said I'm not a completist and I'm not currently hunting down/buying any of these. I'm just waiting to see how gently the Spring thaw is going to affect my too too wet basement (in recent memories). If I've finally got the problem sorted (fingers crossed) then I've got a perfect room to turn into a "special" display area for not only massive dioramas of LOTR but also for SW, Marvel, etc...

They are tough to resist...especially when they were in stores...and they had a couple extras that you really didn't HAVE to have, but thought...hey, let's build an army.

Can't tell you how many times I snagged a few extra for that reason! Heck...even on e-bay NOW, I get roped into muying a few extras.

Just started the latest contest at TheGD.com...giving away 4 NEW Toybiz figures...a couple rarer than others...go check it out!

Toybiz ruled when they had the license...go get some for FREE!

wow, im happy to see im not the only one who enjoys these! i also have a ton, i should get more pics up. i got many or most of mky collection on ebay, but i did get a fair amount in stores. i plan on getting some more that i dont have. in fact, i even made some action figure movies with the LOTR's figures, they are pretty funny, my family loved them, i should prolly post them on youtube. but i tried to get alot of the tough figures first, and they are pretty pricey on ebay. i got alot of the hard to find/rare ones like the rohirrim soldier, grima wormtongue, even the cave troll (paid a pretty penny for that one). im not finished yet, i took a very loong break from these but i want to get back into them again. i'd sell every other figure collection i have, but i dont think ill ever sell my LOTR's figures because its my favorite movies and figure line ever.

I need the Gandalf the Grey superposeable version. Does anyone have a loose complete one they wanna sell? If so PM me or shoot me an email. [email protected]

As a matter a fact shoot me an email if you have any LOTR loose ones for sale.

THANKS

Yes sir that's him. I need him.

By the way I need advice on which Merry, Pippin and Gimili to get. I have the rest minus that Gandalf.

As far as Merry and Pippin...the best figures of them are definitely the ARMORED ones. Merry in Rohan Armor and Pippin in Gondorian Armor...HOWEVER, these are not very HOBBITON like. You could also snag the There and Back Again set which has all 5 Hobbits in it with their Return to the Sire garb and they are all nicely articulated.

As far as Gimli...the one from the FOTR Twin pack with the Uruk is best...between this one and the Coronation one...the original FOTR one is just not as good!
