1/6 Luke Skywalker: Red Five X-Wing Pilot Sixth Scale Figure

Since HT is reusing the head sculpt of farm boy Luke on ST disguise...what are the odds they won't make X wing? After all, the hair piece is removable....

In a few years, I really really doubt LFL will allow both to be released that close together.

I'm not cancelling until the last moment.

Sideshow always makes this stage of a figure release exciting!

In looking closer at the outfit, the chestbox looks a little undersized (very different camera lenses make up for some of the difference between the pics, but the size still seems off.)

While the helmet looks nice sculpt-wise, I wish it was more heavily weathered and had darker red/crimson details like the onscreen helmet seen in all the ANH/ESB cockpit scenes. (The lightly weathered, brighter red details one seen in the ANH pic above is a unique helmet that only appears in a couple of scenes in the base - which the SSC helmet sort of resembles, even if the rebel emblems are a bit misplaced.)

It does look decent with the helmet on. No way near perfect but if you have to have a pilot Luke I suppose I could see where some would pay the $240.00.

I'd love to have a pilot Luke myself but I can't justify paying that much when we get so little and is necessary for so much work to be put into it.

It's tempting to pick up and bash but I think I'd rather verbally bash it to justify me not picking it up. LOL

Ahhh the "acceptance" phase of depression....

It looks ok cause only 15% of the sculpt is exposed. The visor obviously hides the horrible doll eyes and most of the bad paint. At least they nailed the nose and lips.

The amount of Star Wars figures being released is only making me more selective. I can't have them all and there's no way I'll pay US$240 for this when I can get another Star Wars figure for cheaper.

One they are different, one is ROTJ the other is ANH. Second one was released more than a year and half ago, and one isn't released. It will be close to two years between releases. Wow that's pretty much the time I said would be between them. There is plenty of history even with SS and Medicom of time between releasing same figure.

What they can they will yes, but the licenses we are talking about are locked down and legally controlled by Hasbro.

Yeah, but onscreen in ANH they mostly read as a sort of blue/grey/green, not a strong Paul Newman blue - maybe due to the 70's lighting/film stock. The SSC eyes are wrong (especially the proto) but it's not a huge deal to me.

I think it's the Hasbro circa 1998 quality paint apps that are the primary spot of bother.

Wrong: eye color, emblem and strip color wrong on helmet, etc...

Right: orange jump suit, box says Luke (not misspelled like HT's 'uke), etc...

etc...
