Yeah, this is where the thread closure starts to get into a pretty shady area. I just got the same "7 days" SSC e-mail but haven't yet cancelled the Luke X-Wing - hoping to see early in-hand pics. Yet the thread's still closed.

I'm guessing if they don't re-open that Luke X-Wing thread by this weekend, I'll probably just cancel - there's no way to view in-hand pics otherwise. Ironic, given that the closing of the thread was presumably done to prevent negative postings that might drive cancellations.

I wonder what happens if say the figure's in-hand, thread is re-opened but everyone still hates it, despite better quality pics, etc. Are we looking at the thread being perma-closed? :O

All I'm saying is the thread is not just a "forum for discussion" - it's a practical resource. So you shut down the discussion - whatever - but it also shuts down the resource. And... if it ships in less than 7 days, at what point do you then open it?

I got the November 12th notice too. And my order is blocked from online cancelation -- says I must call.

Of course no one is answering right now.

So if the other e-mail says it'll be arriving in their warehouse in 7 days, how can other people be getting notices that infer it'll be there in two days?

Sideshow stated there will not be any Luke X-Wing production figure photos added to the website until after the figure ships. On a $250 figure with an NRD.

I love that John Woo is able to get ahold of the figure to take photos two weeks ago but Sideshow can't.

Maybe I missed it, but what is the deal with the Red 5 Luke figure and the threads being shut down? I went to the thread and the last post says shutting it down until in hand photos appear. Then I read here the same basic info.

Was there more too it than I am reading?

Not really understanding the motives behind that move. I get that there is a ton of criticism in this hobby, but it comes with the territory. Did Sideshow request the thread be closed, and if so why not close all Sideshow related threads with the same conditional approach? After all Sideshow is slammed on almost every product they release so why stop at Luke?

I figured this was the best place to talk about Red Five as a companion piece to the TIE pilot.


In any event, we have not complained about the figure here. We're notifying customers of pending charges.

Regardless that I cancelled, I'm still eager to see in-hand photos from some trusted members here. If anyone is keeping this, that is.
