Huh - the eyes don't look too bad there.:dunno

So are the eyes looking in different directions, or is that lens disrtortion. Overall he looks pretty good, but still not as nice as the proto and not worth $240. I could get him free with RP, but I think I'll hold out for a cheap used one. The exclusive does nothing for me so hopefully the regular is easy to get on the cheap.

how would you feel about displaying this with the helmet off next to the HT SW figs? Is it good enough in your opinion to hold its own? I'm probably most interested in the iconic helmet-off pose for this.

Here ya go...let me know if you want more photos, I got the guys out and a night to play around.

So, ugh, Sideshow's production of the helmet is not painted ^^^??, it looks like a decal. Dr. Nash can you confirm this. From your close ups (thank you by the way) it looks like a decal, not even painted. For the price (and those eyes lol) what a joke of price they charge for this bare bones figure.

It looks like the middle stripe is indeed a decal but the rebel insignia, the gray/yellow strips and all of the rest of the markings look and feel like they are painted onto the helmet.

I think you need to straighten out your helmet's microphone.

Done and done. But dang, the microphone is really delicate! Be careful when futzing the microphone, like really careful!

Dr. Nash, thanks so much for such great pics! It really is so helpful and what I've been waiting for weeks to see - the type of pics you can use to make a decision.

He's looking pretty good there. I think I'm going to find a way to grab this. The price is a major impediment to it selling out or even selling at all, so I think I'll take a wait-and-watch approach to see if I can get it for under $200.

Given what it is, I think you're right that $175-200 is about what it should have been. The head's no homerun but I think it looks decent enough to hold its own on display, and there's always the option to do the helmet-on pose, which really looks terrific.

How is the body? Is it a new body for Sideshow or one of the old ones?

Yep, thanks for all the pictures, they look great. Figure has the same dead stare that HT Han has so it kind of works in a weird way.

Can you take a picture of the figure next to Han just for a height check?

Looks like the darker skin tone that the Hoth figures had. Thanks for all these photos, Nash!

Oh yeah, good point - Dr. Nash - how is the skin tone on the face? Not sure if you got the Hoth figs, but they were noticeably a shade too dark in skintone to read as correct (Han a bit more so than Luke on mine.)

First pic is with LED white light, second pic is with the camera flash - Luke X-Wing looks a shade or two darker than Hoth Luke, like a California tan.

I do not know if it is a new body, but it is slim and easily poseable (my apologies, I'm not as up on the body types as many here) and definitely NOT the Biker Scout body. Hope that helps.

It's really my pleasure to take photos so if you all want anything just say the word.

Beyond the head sculpt, I've read the gloves and boots can be problematic. Thoughts Dr Nash?

The gloved hands have a really great range of movement and I do not see any problems there but the boots do not move at all at the ankles - they are in a static pose. The exclusive hands look way better when they are actually on the figure (pics below in LED white light and camera flash-you can definitely see the "liver spots" on the hands with the camera flash, the LED light seems to bleed them out).

The suit looks really great for the most part. Only issue is some bagginess in the upper body shoulder area, but overall it looks pretty sharp. Seems like it needs some more shoulder definition.

Nash, are the straps for the chest box adjustable?

Actually it does look pretty okay/good. Still too expensive, especially compared with what you get with HT's Farmboy Luke for less. But whatareyagonnado?:dunno

BTW, thanks for all the pictures, Doc!

this is a bit unfortunate to hear. As I mentioned, it's not as bad as Hoth Han, but I'd say compared to an average DID or HT figure, Hoth Luke is a shade too dark, where he just doesn't quite look Caucasian (hence the Eskimo thing for Han) and the fact the Luke X-Wing is a shade darker still is a bit of a bummer.

The chestbox is also a little undersized (seems to be a trend these days :lol)

I noticed the bagginess in the earlier pics but seems like it can be futzed.

Yes, but just the bottom straps. The straps around the neck have no adjustment. Here are a few more photos from the side and the back. I think he looks pretty darn good from the side.

Funny how people come around with some good in hand pics. I do agree about the price point though it should have topped out at $200. I think someone posted something about how Disney influenced the price point when the figure was announced? Still happy to own it.
