well the great part is that the HT head is a bald sculpt just like this one. The only issue I can see is the fine little sliver of hair that is remaining on the top bangs on the SS Luke sculpt. It might require a little meatball surgery to do a little "Hairclub for Men" action on it so the bangs are there for the sculpt. If that is something of interest.

Yeah, seeing is believing for me, but thankfully I know that'll happen sooner than later with Tatooine Luke being released so early -- my tentative plan is to buy two of those, with one version to part out (there are so many accessories that making most of my $ back shouldn't be an issue). I also have the sweaty Stormtrooper Luke coming and maybe he'll be fine on the Tatooine body.

I do like that SS thought to include the bangs under the helmet, possible those will work well enough--the top of the head might need some padding since Tatooine Luke will probably be lopped off up there.

Hey Dave, how about some nice close ups of the head w/o the helmet. Your photos are very clear, I think it would help us get a better sense of what to expect.

I will say the figure is growing on me a bit, but the eyes still seem very dead compared to what they should have been. If you look at Tesla's photo there is just a bit of the white showing underneath the iris on both eyes. That small difference actually helps him look less dull.

Sadly that will probably be a hit or miss issue on these figures, if you are lucky the gaze will be more like Tesla's figure.

Flight suit is looking pretty good in that shot. Skin tone from the head to the neck looks pretty different there, could just be the lighting.

Funny thing is the skin tone didn't match on the proto either :lol

Yeah this one here is production (from Rebelscum/CTR):

That's the one... jeez what an awful paint job. IRRC the rest of the figure was quite good, but the work on his head was shameful.

well...... There is a special place for that with this lovely lady. :lol

latest

Again... that's the proto; this was the final product:

In fairness, I think she actually turned out better than Faramir; but she had a head start on him when it came to notoriety :lol I'm surprised Michael hasn't removed this post from his website; I'm sure he's sick of seeing it used so often :lol

Congrats! We expect honest pics and review. Please.

if anyone wants, here some pics of the ex.
im liking it out of the box. got to futz with the helmet abit as abit crooked but looks good to me.

Received Luke today. I am a little underwhelmed. For the price it should have come with many more accessories - e.g. someone earlier posted this Luke with HT Bespin Luke's belt, gun, and saber; it looked really great. Seriously, I'm really trying to wrap my head around the price tag. Otherwise, I actually think this head sculpt is better than pics I've seen of HT Luke IV likeness-wise but that remains to be seen until both are in hand. That being said, the skin "tone" in the actual figure is nothing close to what we saw on the website. I have tried to take some super close up photos to get the look of the skin tone and texture. They also included the chin cleft but you have to shine a light right up to it to see it. I definitely like the figure and am glad I got it, but I think this figure should have had a price point of $175-200 at most.

So, ugh, Sideshow's production of the helmet is not painted ^^^??, it looks like a decal. Dr. Nash can you confirm this. From your close ups (thank you by the way) it looks like a decal, not even painted. For the price (and those eyes lol) what a joke of price they charge for this bare bones figure.

Dr. Nash, thanks so much for posting these pics - man, it's been a long wait for these.:clap I'd rep you if I could!

The head's looking better there - the eyes aren't anywhere near as cartoony in terms of paint as the earlier (though blurry) pics suggested. Though the eyes are still not looking that realistic/natural - maybe the size/shape as well as the somewhat off apps? But the helmet-on pics are looking stellar and do make me consider re-ordering this.

And it's unfortunate about the EX hand - looks like a pretty significant molding error.

Dr. Nash, how would you feel about displaying this with the helmet off next to the HT SW figs? Is it good enough in your opinion to hold its own? I'm probably most interested in the iconic helmet-off pose for this.

For those that are underwhelmed and can't understand the price, yet still buy it... Why? You're telling sideshow it's ok.
