One of the reasons I keep coming back to this one. Great pics. Thanks Stickman!
It's also nice to have a figure in the collection which isn't just black, blue, grey or earth tones. It really pops on the shelf.
Although the figure really is nice and one of Sideshows' better releases, the lack of accessories really hurt it, regardless of the price.
It would have been cool to have him with his newly obtained light-saber, for example. Perhaps even a "womp rat" (from the Jabba throne set) that he used to bull's-eye in his T-16 back home...
Edit: And great pics, Calvcade!
I'm going to take some pics with the stock head and upload them later. But for now here's the figure with the HT head on.
The head didn't need any mods to get the helmet to fit - I just fitted it without any hair attached...
Wow great pictures, with the HT head on it it really shines. Did the neck peg fit okay with the HT head?
Paint application aside, the SS sculpt (chiefly the upper lip/mouth) is closer to Hamill IMO. I'll be getting HT Farmboy, but I'll be looking to trade head sculpts for this guy. Some acetone, some paint and I'm good!
What should have been an obvious EX would have been a blaster reminiscent of the blaster the Kenner fig came with (i.e. not "screen accurate" like the Luke Hoth came with, but a detailed version of the Kenner gun like the snowie EX or TIE Pilot EX.)
And they've really gone to town with logs and snow/rock for the newer previous bases - so yeah, some Yavin hoses and a crate (the Han reward type crates) would have been nice additions. People mentioned the ladder but it probably would have needed to be too big and a bit abstract without anything to lean it on.
What would have made this set a must-have would have been the inclusion of a snowspeeder jacket, Hoth boots and gloves and the Luke blaster belt (it would have not been much more than Luke Hoth came with - it came with three heads and a TON of stuff.) I know they're far simpler, but as an unpublicized extra on Han Hoth they threw in the Bespin jacket and shirt. That would have made $240 seem like a steal.
But I have a sneaky feeling that the "Snowspeeder Luke" will be a separate release...
You may be pleasantly surprised with the level of paintwork on the SS head, it's just those eyes which need work.

If SS had included a blaster, lightsaber and a diorama base, then I'm sure the price would be a little more palatable to many.
Having said that, I'm obviously guilty of paying full price for this, but I just couldn't resist - the X-wing pilot uniform is just so 'Star Wars'.
Here's a few more pics...
Just makes me eager for the HT Hoth Luke pilot...
Wonderful photos!!!! Quick question, are those the spare ungloved hands that came with Luke? I noticed the hand holding the pistol is in actual pistol grip form, wondering if you swapped a pistol holding hand for that, or if the bare hands we get actually those?
Thanks!
