Luke is home. Gladly, i have nothing major to report beside some paint rubbing on the chin and a dark spot on the visor probably coming from the hair piece. Otherwise, pretty happy with Luke. As always, portrait doesn't look nearly as bad as in the photos and the flight suit is just superb.

Haven't seen any pics of the new body anywhere so i thought i'd share those here:

Here under is proof that George Lucas lied to Carrie Fisher telling her there was no underwear in space

Ok, it has more of a wrestling singlet but Luke still wears it under his suit right?

After some futzing and ironing, time to put everything back together

You'll need some precision tools to undress and redress Luke but it's really worth it if you wanna get him to look a bit more realistic.

Then, switching to a HT portrait can help too

Luke made it over to the UK today. I think SSC did a fantastic job. The headsculpt likeness is there it's just the eyes that lack realism and the skin tones are a little too dark. With the helmet on it easily fits in with HT recent SW offerings, and I'm really pleased I picked it up. Now tempted by the TIE pilot!

I actually prefer the look of the SS head over the HT one on this figure. The HT face lil feminine on. May buy this after all.

Looks like you got the pant leg folded over the boot pretty good there. I like it.

Thanks! The suit leg's not actually tucked into the boot on that leg; I turned the elasticated bottom of the suit leg back inside into the leg and was able to pull the outer fabric down over the boot top. It gives a bit more fabric to blouse over the boot than it would if it was tucked in and then folded over.

Nice work. Got it the way it's supposed to look. :clap

It's difficult to get a perfect blousing of the pants over the boot, as the pants are too short. The elastic portion reaches the top of the booth and doesn't allow enough material to blouse over. I fiddled with mine as best as I could and it just looks like it's tucked straight in.

You're right there isn't enough fabric to be able to do that. That's why I didn't do it that way.

I wonder if with a narrow shoulder true type body if there would be more material down to the legs. I would think more fabric would push down lower on the shoulders and make this possible with a body swap.

Could work. Sideshow just needed to have added just another half-inch or so of material and it would have been fine. I can't believe it was a cost-cutting move...

Nice layers shots, Tee-kay!

Thanks. Had some good time with this Luke today. Very easy to work on.

Thanks to your pic, i did futz my Luke a little more to achieve that rendering. Also, noticed you chose to pu the flares on the right leg. Any specific reason. Noticed production/backstage pics have Luke wearing them either on left or right leg.

I must have missed the true explanation to this sad outcome...
What really happened? Did your dog lose his mind?

Sideshow lost their mind and told me to destroy him. :wink1:

Due to a broken visor and floppy leg, Sideshow told me to smash the whole lot and they would send out a replacement figure.

That's great, I'm glad it helped! I've not watched the film for a while but had a look at some screencaps and it looks like he wears the flares on his right leg in the film: when he's in the Hangar talking to Han and when getting into the X-Wing before take off, and when getting out after he returns from blowing up the Death Star. I didn't notice them on his left leg at all. Screencaps are here: Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977) - Star Wars Screencaps.com I know some of the promo pics show them on his left leg, but I decided to go with what's on screen.
