Seems like both SS and HT sculpts are missing a bit "Hamill". Been going over stills and the thing that sticks out the most is that Mark's eyes are a little bigger I believe. And also seems to have some bags under his eyes.

That's why the helmet on seems to work pretty well for both. From the nose down both sculpts are very solid as far as likeness goes.

Decided to pass on this figure in the end :(
Couldn't justify the cost of replacing the head sculpt. Hopefully HT will release an ESB version down the road.

At full prices, this figure with a HT head would be close to $350.:slap

:exactly:

Without the helmet the SS looks a bit strange due to the eyes, but I think it's the better sculpt. My HT Stormtrooper Luke is a bit Zoolander.

I'm hoping the non-sweaty face doesn't give off that vibe.

Oddly enough I think this was the best shot I got of the SS without the helmet:

If I this ever goes for a reasonable price I think I'll grab this and an extra hot toys farmer luke. Use the farmer sculpt for the pilot, use the ssc sculpt under the hot toys training helmet. If any has both figures and can confirm whether or not this works I would appreciate it.

It should work fine since both of those scuplts have detachable hair pieces I would think you are fine with that line of thinking.

Thanks I'm thinking it will work too. We have seen the hot toys head wearing the pilot helmet but I don't believe that anyone has posted the sideshow head with the training helmet yet. I do like the hot toys noggin on the x wing figure.

I was greatly disappointed with the figure when I got it.
But after putting HT Stormtrooper Disguise Luke's head on it,
it's like a magic. All my anger and hatred is gone. I love this figure now.lol

Love how the orange flight suit pops amidst all those whites and blacks. That's one of the nice things with the red stormtrooper death star grates. Adds a bit of color. Great collection, Lakeshouse, knew you had to have a snowtrooper in there.

I love the figure as is. With the helmet on the face structure looks perfect to me.

Looking forward to having a perfect Luke again next Monday. :lol

Post hammer-time I assessed the damaged remains of the costume. The suit; under suit padding; vest; harness and flare bandolier all sustained punctures or rips. It's all wearable, if not parade-worthy. The helmet, chest box and hose exploded apart, and Luke's nose looks like he hit the control console when he crashed.

Managed to glue the helmet, chest box and hose back together and re-assembled the figure on my old Indiana Jones Prometheus 1.0 - the body I'd been using for the too-tall-out-of-the-box SS Hoth Luke. (Hoth Luke now has Lando's Pro1.0, since unlike this damaged flight suit, the Hoth outfit exposes no skin).

Added Yavin Luke's holster and gun. Wanted to use Smuggler Han's holster but it was far too tight, even for the Pro 1.0 - the Buck really was a funny shape! Also has Jedi Luke's sabre.

He's not going to win any movie-likeness awards, but he works for me as a post-Yavin 'Expanded Universe Adventure' Battle-Damaged Luke. I'm happy that even though he's no longer perfect, he didn't go completely to waste.

Got mine today, very surprised if im honest i wasn't expecting much from what i'd read and saw early on. I managed to get him for a little under £130 so not bad, he definitely adds some colour to the collection. Also the body feels a lot better than their older ones too(he can actually stand), cut and stitch is great too. Sculpt looks fine to me with the helmet on, i haven't gotten round to taking it off yet which is how i intend to have him posed(that could change). Overall please with the purchase

Just a quick shot will do more over the weekend.
