Here's my custom SNOWSPEEDER LUKE using some parts from the SS figure.
This is my all time fav look for Luke.[...]

Awesome work. Also my all time favourite look -- I would tackle a custom but the jacket holds me back. Can't sew to save my life, and if there was ever a time to get this figure from either SSC or HT ... this is it, so hoping for an announcement in the next year or so.

Wonderful. He needs a light up lightsaber though! You could always sculpt a glove over the hand.

This is my all time fav look for Luke.

I updated my figure with some ss parts (Helmet and head, chest box and white vest).
I added weathering to the helmet and som touch of snow weathering on the pants and boots.

Wow! Just ... Wow! :rock :clap

It's too dark for decent pics now, but I swapped Red Five's body today. Used the MMS304 (previously on a Sandtrooper -- my MMS304 armour has long been switched to the MMS295 body.It can get confusing).

So the body is shorter, and slightly narrower in the shoulders than the SSC body. Looking at it, something about it hangs better and it creates a little more room to futz and rumple the flight suit, although there's now a tighter, more finicky fit between the leg bandolier and the boot due to bunched fabric -- futzable, mod-able, whatever. I left the black body-glove on it although I probably didn't need to.

The Red Five neck joint needed heat to go on and is a tight fit, but still works. In addition to the body proportions being different in the limbs and shoulders and being shorter over-all ... the neck either sits lower in the torso or the suit is simply bunching up more, bringing the collar up a little. He doesn't look wrong or no-neck so maybe it's just the suit. I like it, looks more flight-suit-y.

I also had to swap out the wrist pegs as the SSC ones won't sit tight in the HT wrists at all.

I like the look better; it just looks more natural to me. Shame because the SSC body isn't bad, it's just not as good.

The Red Five flight gear is a total pain to get off and back on -- I had to use tweezers and I'm generally pretty dexterous without them.

Anyway, really digging this figure even more now; someone yell at me if I don't post pics tomorrow afternoon.

This my $100 Luke - outfit from TA, rest is parts bin on an eBay slim/narrow body. One thing I notice with it on a narrow shoulder body is that the upper leg pockets make the thighs look wider, so he takes on a bit of a pear shape if you don't bend those pockets a little to narrow the look.

I know what you mean about the outfit - that zipper is a major pain and very delicate and all the straps are difficult to get sitting right.:gah:

Talibane was right about a little more apparent weight in the thighs, but iPhone exaggerates the effect.

Thanks! Even though I really don't have an issue with the figure remaining stock, I do like the narrower shoulders on your customized Luke. Nice!

I had the body to hand and was curious; I think it works stock as well, this is what I'd call a minor tweak. Not sure if it was worth the time I spent wrestling all those straps and buckles. :p

Looks good - I do like the narrower shoulders, though it's true it's only a minor improvement over the stock.

Pockets/pear shape is really just a futzing issue though - even try water treatment to get the pockets under control, and which will also make the pants bag out just right over the boots.

My only fear with water treatment is could the orange bleed into the white vest?

Looking at your pics makes me realize I need to lower my Luke's helmet another 1/8".:slap

Thanks, it's a balancing act. I probably wouldn't have bought a new body for it any time soon because it was overpriced to begin with, but I had the appropriate one kicking around to try it, so why not? Tiny increments at this scale add up. It comes down to economics sometimes. At least in this age of the Star Wars Deluge.

I was actually going to hit him with steam again...I did it the first time with the stock body and it improved the creasing and hang of the suit, I'm sure it'll edge it in the right direction on the new frame as well.

I didn't get any bleed from a relatively heavy steam treatment, but I'd still be careful and for that reason prefer steam over water for orange and white.

I hate when that happens. :lol

^^ it probably has a greater range of head movement on the SSC body. Head posability is a serious problem on the HT Luke.

And so... how does the SSC head look on the HT body then?:lecture
