Just a reminder, the kit will not include the dog, which will be sold separately IF it turns out.

Again, I'd appreciate any other last minute feedback on the dog sculpt before I move on with it. Do you guys like the pose, do the porportions look OK?

Proportions look about right; head may be a tad oversized but once you start the sculpting it may take it down.

Might help to see it next to a 12" figure for scale ref.

I think the eyes might be a smidge too far apart. Almost looks pitbullish. Great work Danimal.

kinda hard to tell from the iconic shot but i think thats the position the tail is in

I agree with barryo. I think the tail should be in that position. Almost straight out behind the dog. Are you going to sculpt the red scarf on the dog's neck or offer it as a separate cloth piece? I would prefer the separate cloth piece for the scarf to put around the dog's neck. I think that would work better. I could always buy another Terminator Salvation John Connor red cloth from your store and put it around the dog's neck if you aren't going to offer one with the dog. The dog looks great to me already! I would add some "scruff" to it, and make its hair look rough like it does in barryo's picture as you sculpt it out. :)

Thanks for the input, and I'm happy everyone seems to think it's looking decent so far. This is a "Pre" hair sculpt, so yes, he'll have hair and scruff and paws and actual ears. It was requested earlier that the scarf not be sculpted, so it won't. Though despite the iconic pose reference everyone is using to suggest the position of his tail, after watching all the dog scenes very closely many times, his tail is never actually like that in the movie baring a still frame when his tail is moving. Still, if that's the consensus, I'll do it that way. The ears and tail will be the last thing I do, so if opinions change, so can the sculpt.

Yeah, that "iconic picture" of Max with his dog walking on the road may have well been a promotional lobby card shot to promote the movie. I really think so now that I have thought more about it. Because we never see that scene in the movie at all with Max and his dog on the road that way.

That' cool T.A. about the dog's hair still to come as well as more detailing for his ears and the tail. If there are not enough people to suggest that the tail be made sticking nearly straight out, then I am fine with it in a relaxed position since in that promotional picture the dog looks relaxed walking along with Max.

I am using the Sideshow Terminator 2 T-800 figure's black jacket and black pants and boots for my custom Max figure. The Sideshow T-800 had a thinner body than the new Hot Toys T-800. So I am hoping that the Sideshow T-800 clothes will fit better on a Hot Toy TrueType body. I'm not sure if I will use a standard TT, or a "narrow shoulder" one. I don't think Mel Gibson has narrow shoulders.

Anyone else? What clothes are you using for your custom Max figures?

Here's the Sideshow T2 T-800 jacket I have over at Toy Anxiety now. They only have one left! Here's the link to it:

Here's the Sideshow T2 T-800 leather pants over at Toy Anxiety now. They have 12 pairs of pants in stock now. Here's the link to them:

Here's the Sideshow T2 T-800 black boots at Toy Anxiety. These must be used with a body that uses pegs at the ankles that will fit into the peg holes inside the boots. They have 10 pairs in stock now. Here's the link to them:

I hope this helps you out! This is the outfit I am using for my custom "Mad Max" from The Road Warrior! :)

Here's the start of my Max "re-do" . I'm planning to tailor the jacket and pants to fit once I have decided on which body i will use. I have a shoulder pad pattern made and will hopefully be able to add it to the jacket soon. The belts etc are just placeholders just now and will need to be painted and weatherd if I can't find anyhting suitable.

Looks great!! The zipper seems a bit large though.

Any news on when the accessory pack are going to be available?

Shaping up nicely! :clap

OK, here's my final dog sculpt. I have one question to you painters out there. Do you want his eyes as they are with the bulging sculpt for paint, or should I smooth that out to more of a domed shape?

... and for scale, I present Mad Michael! Of course, maybe he should have had the Farel Kid. I didn't say that. :slap

Looking Ace so far Dan and you could keep it normal instead of bulging, most of the detail is made through the painting :)
