Guitar guy perfectly fits in this world as it did in the past.

Big picture. Deal With It.

I actually started to care about the wives making it alive. I think I would have preferred some of the older gals making it and more of the bad guys getting wrecked. Max getting in the other truck seemed like a waisted opportunity.

Where did I say he didn't fit in?

He was a waste of screen time, his contribution to the story and action was a big fat zero.

They already had the drummers representing the sound of war, if they were going to add a guitar player then at least have him add something meaningful to the story or add something memorable to the action.

He just flayed around useless taking away precious screen time.

Well two points:

1) I don't think he really had much screentime
2) if the guitar player is a waste then logically so must be the drummers, no?

I don't think so, GM had a great idea with the music of war (call for war), and the drummers were perfect for it, i'm just saying he should've stopped there.

They were effectively used, I didn't think the guitar guy was.

I guess all Warboys are metal heads?

Anyways, guitar dude not my main problem with the movie.

I think it needed one more extended battle scene with more for everyone to do, both for IJ's army and the heroes.

I would've narrowed the wives to 3, AND more importantly I think I would've had Furiosa die taking out IJ and have Max complete her mission in honor of her, would've really amped up his character 10 fold.

Remember now, I liked this movie. :lol

No judgement from me. I didn't have any pre-set ideas of what should and shouldn't be in a Mad Max film but I certainly will when I go into Terminator Genisys....and I expect I will find that film most decidedly wanting....

I think someone's trying to find reasons to bash this movie because it's getting far more praise than Age of Ultron. :lol

I'm easily entertained.

I think it's for the better that you go drunk to that. :lol

Nah, i'm far too old for that childish crap.

I enjoyed FR.

So you're saying that the only logical reasoning for me critiquing in a non rude manner has to be because the movie received a 25% higher RT score than AOU?

So no one is ever allowed to find the movie just good, it has to be 101% perfect or GTFO, words can't be spoken about it?

Wut? :lol

People can bash AOU all they want, I am more than pleased to engage them in thoughtful discussions on the whys, that's why I come here in the first place, to participate in healthy and fun discussions about movies and toys. I enjoy being challenged on stuff that I liked.

Sheesh, what did I ever do to you. :lol

I just don't get why you're so hung up on this guitar guy. I think you're the only one so far who hates him so much. And he was only in the movie for a short time

But my review covers much more than just the guitar dude. :lol

You want me to go macro, i'll go macro.

I'm thinking having Furiosa die might've actually built Max up pretty strong, him finishing her mission for her in honor of her, then leaving.

Plus adding one more big action set piece, giving IJ, his son, Max and the warrior women one more big round of fighting all leading up to Furiosa's sacrifice.

Screw the guitar dude, i'm talking about shaking up the entire emotional narrative core and really building up Max worthy of the size of his name on the title of the movie.

That may have been a better resolution but I certainly don't see a problem with how things played out. I expected her to die at several points in the film and was surprised when she didn't.

The only major thing I think the film should have had is Max playing a larger role. I thought he was handled very well but like you said it is a Mad Max film, and I think it would have been better if he had a bit more focus. After the beginning of the film his role didn't seem any larger than Nicholas Hoult's.

The whole movie was an action scene though, so I'm not sure how more action could benefit it. :lol

There can always be more action. :lol

But you are correct about Max at the end.

So jye, I think I can summarize your feelings in this way:

Ok, my final thoughts after my 2nd and last theatrical viewing.

Overall yes. . .Guitar guy was. . .great. . .I really felt for him and. . .the. . .great. . .music during that entire scene.

Overall. . .he. . .was. . .earth shattering for me as. . .for many others.

I. . .have a vision. . .bush. . .gives me that vision.
Not sure what you're talking about with the bush vision, but I agree with your opinion overall.
