You think Max should be really horny after all these years...at the end of the film he coulda had Furiosa and hit her like a guy outta jail after 10 yr sentence....I mean it :) ...Guitar man was a good addition...something different, but it worked

so jye, i think i can summarize your feelings in this way:

Not sure what you're talking about with the bush vision, but i agree with your opinion overall.

lol

lol

you know tom hardy sucked as max when even the "guitar guy" named doof is getting more attention than the hero :lol

lol

I actually enjoyed him more the 2nd time around.

Wait, that came out wrong didn't it. :lol

Man, I was going to check this out again this weekend in D-Box and it might already be gone by then. One week! Stupid Tomorrowland is looking to steal the D-box seats. What a waste.

I did, I really really did.

That music swelling up during the final battle was awesome, movie had a pretty decent soundtrack when it was required.

AOU > FR

Yep! That's why I rushed out and saw it in D-box twice in three days, after Thursday I'm sure that opportunity will be gone for good.

Loved it even more the second time! Loved, LOVED it! I think this is my Mad Max movie. The originals (first two anyway) are classics but FR is just sublime.

I can't believe how *beautiful* Miller was able to make rust and sand. The movie is just gorgeous. And the music, so epic. The crescendo when the car is exploding in the firestorm, they're plowing sand to put out the fire, and then when the War Rig finally crashes, just fantastic. Same for when Furiosa drops to her knees in anquish.

Hardy was great. Equal to Mel. Like Nicholson/Ledger. Take your pick. Equally good. So many great characters. Even the wives and War Boys and everyone looking at the freaky deformed son who assumedly was the last "heir" seeing if he wanted to lower the platform.

I can't believe there's like a combined 90 minutes of action and for me not an ounce of battle fatigue. The amazing pace of the score really contributed. When that music would swell even 10-15 minutes into an action sequence I'd get like a burst of adrenalin and be ready for another 15 minutes all over again.

Charlize totally earned the right to "share" the spotlight with the title character.

I was kind of unprepared for Max's role the first time around. Now I kind of see him as the T-800 in T2. Technically the "title" character but really more of a bodyguard, gives sound tactical advise, jumps onto other vehicles when necessary, etc. Doesn't get to "live happily ever after" with those he's protecting. And it works!

Second time around also felt like a desert version of the Iliad what with all the various encounters (including Sirens) along the way. You know, the Iliad with War Rigs and doof warriors. :lol

I love this world. Love it. It was fun to spend more time piecing together the geography and cultures. The Citadel, Gas Town and Bullet Farm, etc. Did we ever learn what the payment would be for the other two War Lords' assistance? Are we just to assume it would have been tons of extra water? I didn't know if something else had been mentioned.

She only had to make a deal for the canyon. She just planned to outrun Bullet and People Eater to that point and close the canyon behind her. She counted on some resistance to help wipe out her crew.

The world is incredibly well built. Thinking about every shot for days, it feels like you wandered at your leisure through a 15 hour environment rich video game rather than a 2 hour constantly on the move car chase.

I meant Immortan Joe's arrangement with the leaders of Gas Town and the Bullet Farm. Why were they lending their warriors to the chase? Promise of more water?

Absolutely, I'm so fascinated by all the little goings on. Like how they lower all their pursuit vehicles from the cliff. What books did all the wives get to read. Just random peripheral stuff is all so fascinating.

Gas Town and Bullet Farm gangs were slightly under utilized.

Hell, IJ was under utilized!

My favorite shot of him though was when he was holding his dead wife.

Actually, I loved it everytime he was on screen, I couldn't get enough of IJ.

Why did the motorcycle gang blow up the canyon after they started shooting at her. They did what she wanted them to do anyways.

I always got the impression Joe had set them up at those places, not cut deals with them.

Self defense. They screwed Joe over by dealing with Furiosa. Were stealing his gas. He was coming with everything he had into their territory.

I got the impression that they were almost equals to him. Water was life but bullets and gas are almost just as precious in that world. And the big Gas Town guy seemed to be keeping a running tally of IJ's debt and chastised him for getting them stuck in the quagmire.

Yeah, they felt equal, and unafraid of him.

Hell, Bullet chief even told IJ to hurry the **** up! :lol

"Patience....Patience". :lol

I LOVE IJ!

My son is already named Joe, have to ask the wife if I can add the Immortan part.

Yea I dunno, all I can tell you for sure is that People Eater called him daddy at one point. Same goes for the little deformed guy at the Citadel when he said to Rictus "go see what's bothering dad." Plus Bullet had to ask permission to go ahead during the c-section.

I'm dying for a making of/behind the scenes book with all the cars and characters too.
