Hah. Not from around here, then?

Was there any doubt? ;)

One of my brothers doesn't watch movies, none, heavy into sports though.

Therefore his kids get no exposure to movies so they're afraid to go see Avengers or Godzilla.

My son is exposed to a lot of movies and collectibles, he's not afraid to watch any movie if i'm letting him watch it, he knows that the ones I don't allow are horror movies or movies with too much cursing.

He's perfectly fine with superhero comic book action or general action movies.

Have I slipped up causing a nightmare here and there, sure have, he survived. :lol

Yep, my son is obsessed with dinosaurs and Kaiju so we watches Pacific Rim, Godzilla 2014 and G v. Mothra, and Jurassic Park pretty regularly. The only part of all those movies that I try to get him to hide his eyes for is in JP when Sam Jackson's bloody arm lands on Laura Dern's shoulder. But the last time he watched it he peeked and said, "It bit off his arm? Guess he'll need to get a robot arm then." Ah, well, so much for scarring him.

He's seen Winter Soldier, ESB and so on so I guess losing a limb isn't that big a deal. :lol

He saw BOTFA in the theater with me twice and most recently AOU. He's cool with all of that. But my sister has a daughter who's the same age as my son and she hasn't watched any of that and couldn't even make it through Maleficent. So, yeah, I guess I've done my part to properly desensitize him. But like you I draw the line at profanity and horror.

I figured I'd wait a bit until I let him watch something R-rated but damn, I'm so tempted to let Fury Road pop his cherry. :lol

I would be interested to know how the pregnant woman scene is processed by a small child. Khev, let your kid see it, and come back here in about 10 years to let us know if there was any permanent mental scarring. Great opportunity for a psychological experiment!

Good point. He was delivered by C-section so I guess the "perfect baby brother" scene would cross the line into "edutainment." Thanks!

Khev's kid will come home and surprise Mrs. Khev with a great quote.

I HAD A LITTLE BABY BROTHER AND HE WAS PERFECT, PERFECT IN EVERY WAY

I want him to be able to watch a kid trip on the monkey bars so he can shout, "Mediocre!!"

And you know now that I think of it that's just how badass everyone in FR is. If someone messes up you don't call them lame or a loser. No, "mediocre" is the worst insult that would apply to them. That was just "pretty good?" Bah! No Valhalla for you!

First prequel comic confirms it's still in Australia. We get to see post-apocalyptic Sydney like in BT.

After all, GM chose Namibia for its resemblance to Australia's red desert.

Ah, I knew Joe set up Farmer and People Eater. But it's awesome just to get a glimpse of their own encampments.

Comics are fantastic because if they suck, it's not something, probably, anyone else you'll ever meet will bring up. :lol

Yea, the fact that it's Miller is why I'm going to pick them up. It's practically like looking at concept art.

Man I hate promotional tie in comics, story looks interesting but man the art always suffers.
Not always. John Byrne did some issues for an Indiana Jones series in the early '80s, and Jerry Ordway did the art for the 1989 Batman tie-in. Art Adams also did Godzilla and Creature from the Black Lagoon, though they were based on much older films obviously.

Well, modern promotional tie-ins do anyways, see Injustice, Arkham Knight, Mortal Kombat, Flash season 0, Winter Soldier, Man of Steel prequel.

The art here doesn't look particularly well made, I'm guessing a weekly series? Who's the artist?

How old were all of you guys when you saw the first MM/RW? My son is 5 and a half and I *SO* want him to grow up having seen this movie on the big screen. :lol

It's not even as violent as the first Raiders right?

Saw TRW in the summer of 81 at a old two screen theater in Shawnee, OK. I was seven. And it has been my favorite flick since.

Saw Mad Max later on cable before Thunderdome came out.

Any Aussies who can look at that comic pic and say if Gas Town is based on a real location at all?(with that bridge) Or the Bullet Farm? Kinda looks like that mine they raced on Top Gear.

Not sure of the artist but it's a four-part series. This one is Nux & Immortan Joe's origin. Next is Furiosa's origin, then a two-parter on Max filling in the events since BT (including reassembly of the Interceptor!)

Anyone have the art book yet? Sold out at amazon here, which is a good thing I guess?

Waiting for it from another seller.
