How old were all of you guys when you saw the first MM/RW? My son is 5 and a half and I *SO* want him to grow up having seen this movie on the big screen. :lol

It's not even as violent as the first Raiders right?

RW seemed more violent to me visually. They really gloried in running people over in that. This one's violence was more suggestive, but it is very manic... which I would think a 5 year old could find disturbing and unsettling.

You're stuck with Tomorrowland, dude. :lol

Best thing about this movie and JJ's intent with TFA is the moving away from CGI and back to practical effects and real-world set.

Yeah, when a preview came on he didn't even like looking at IJ's mask. Dammit. Can't complain though, he'll get to see the Falcon in IMAX in a few months.

I heard a review on the radio about Tomorrowland and the guy was saying that a lot of that movie is pretty dark and depressing too. He said it didn't really seem like a movie for kids.

He'll be fine, the worst violence in the movie is just implied, no way a kid can figure that stuff out, and the graphic violence is pretty subdued, not gratuitous at all, I grew up on way more violent stuff and I barely have any issues.

Oh I know what's in it, I've seen it twice already. :) I was just trying to justify possibly giving him nightmares in favor of him having bragging rights about seeing it on the big screen when he grows up. :lol

All the Mad Max films got less Australian as the series went on, I think. The first is definitely the most ingrained. Anyone who's ever been to Geelong will recognise those country roads. Plus what other movie refers to kids as 'Sprog?'

That said, Furiosa and the War Boys using terms like 'fang it!' was a nice touch.

I'd seen Raiders and Temple of Doom by the time I was your kid's age and tbh, the ewoks getting blown away by AT-STs in Jedi was way scarier. Context I guess.

Saw Fury Road again tonight. Just as good as the first viewing. That ****ing ending is perfect.

One of my brothers doesn't watch movies, none, heavy into sports though.

Therefore his kids get no exposure to movies so they're afraid to go see Avengers or Godzilla.

My son is exposed to a lot of movies and collectibles, he's not afraid to watch any movie if i'm letting him watch it, he knows that the ones I don't allow are horror movies or movies with too much cursing.

He's perfectly fine with superhero comic book action or general action movies.

Have I slipped up causing a nightmare here and there, sure have, he survived. :lol

I would be interested to know how the pregnant woman scene is processed by a small child. Khev, let your kid see it, and come back here in about 10 years to let us know if there was any permanent mental scarring. Great opportunity for a psychological experiment!

Actually felt very Australian to me :lol

"out here everything hurts" if that's not Australia I don't know what is :lol

good point :lol

My son watched RW today. :yess:

I'm thinking a Wez costume for Halloween this year, I just need to find him a blonde male partner to be his wasteland prize.

Once he's taking anabolic steroids in High School he can go as Humungus if he likes.

It's ok, they're just dolls, they're not really flipping you off.

:lol
