One thing I really like about Road Warrior, is that the first time we see him ranting through Max's distant point of view, we have no idea what he's talking about. Then later, when we do hear him, there are segments where the audience doesn't hear him again. And to my eyes, the reason is that the substance of the rant is irrelevant, and Miller's approach makes him seem somewhat absurd. I suspect Miller filmed this intentionally to make this point. He's the leader of a band of weak-minded lunatics, and is a leader, in part, because he's a good, charismatic orator. But he doesn't say anything of great importance. His intentions are clear, irrespective of what he says. Not very different than numerous political leaders we've seen.Sorry Khev, but even behind the scenes Humungus was a bad ass villain!
