Re: Maglor’s Menagerie & Figure Photography

Sadly the sword doesn't come with the version I have. It comes with the Final Battle Version, which has the angry face and the kilt.

It's also a cool figure, but I wanted the classic look. :)

No my Friend I mean a Replica of the Sword, Lifesize

Ah, I see. That would be sweet! :exactly:

^^^This is the only picture I have of her in which she has legs.

I am pretty well known for not using stands for my figures. And as you can see I'm really pushing the limits by having her posed with an ankle bent (as if it were broken). That's a pose that requires a stand! On top of that she had extremely weak joints. I took those last three pictures, moved her over to a different spot, left the room for a second, and heard a "plop."

When I came back she was on the ground with both legs broken OFF at the hip! :horror

At first I was pretty upset about it... then I realized that she is a zombie! She can be displayed without legs and everyone would think it was intentional! One of these days maybe I'll add a bit more blood and gore to further sell the idea!

As a side point, I got her on sale from goHastings through amazon. I think she was about $7 plus &7 for shipping, so at least it wasn't a big money loss. :lol

It was a learning experience. Although I still generally don't believe in using stands, I recognize the need to not push a figure too far without resorting to a stand. And also, firm up those weak joints!

I'm undoubtedly in the minority here, but the Citadel Guard was my most wanted 1/6 scale figure from Lord of the Rings. I even called Sideshow about it when the 1/6 figures were in production and suggested it.

No on-screen character came closer to my mental image of them. I love the helm and the wings. In fact the Sideshow-Weta mini helm of this character is a grail of mine. Sadly it only is sold as part of a 4 pack called: Gondorian Helm Collection, and they are not cheap, starting at around $250. And all I want is that Citadel Guard Helm. So, for now this 7" Toy Biz figure is as close as I'm gonna get.

This figure has been modifies as follows:

1) Repaint of most of the silver and gold surfaces.
2) Added a cloth face-mask. [Swatch of fabric donated by lforigno.]
3) The original tabs for attaching the cape/shoulder armor were removed and it was glued in place.

Hope you like it. :)
