Boston became the first team to miss the postseason after leading by as many as nine games for a playoff spot entering September, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Amazing night in Baseball! I didn't care to see my Yanks blow a 7 - 0 lead, but seeing the Red Sox get knocked out takes the sting away.

I will laugh if Phillies lose to St Louis since they are the reason they are playing them.

It could happen. We just took 3/4 I believe the other day in Philly. The Cards lu isn't terrible at all and we're playing good. Problem is will we get any pitching outside of Carp.

What I find amusing is Yankee fans talking crap about a collapse, when they have a record collapse that will NEVER be broken.

True. But they also have a "couple" of rings that help to soothe that collapse.

Sounds like the typical Yankee response. We have won a bunch so we can forget the more recent failures.

As long as those wins happened during their lifetime (or better during the time they were a fan) then its cool. NYY fans can do that for all the rings in the 90s and 2000s.

I know I can live with years of failure after a WS win and be happy.

For me its when a Cleveland Browns fan for instance who is 40 years old tells a Bengals fan to stick it because Jim Brown and Otto Graham won more championships than Icky Woods and Boomer Esiason, they just sound lame.

Where are you when I have to listen to Dolphins fans in their 20's and early 30's talk about the '72 Dolphins?

:)

In my lifetime , I've seen the Yankees play in 11 World Series and win 7, not too shabby.
