Where are you when I have to listen to Dolphins fans in their 20's and early 30's talk about the '72 Dolphins?

:)

Exactly. I don't think anyone should claim pride in something that essentially they hand selected after the fact and didn't have to take the risk of investing their heart into something that had a chance at failure. Might as well hand select all the championship teams of the last century and say they each were your teams. Or at the end of the season forget what team you rooted for all season long and tell yourself that you really wanted the eventual winner to win.

Personally, I don't even claim the 97 or 98 Broncos as my team because I had moved here in 95 and only sorta liked them. My friends who are Colorado natives and lived and died with all the SB losses deserved to claim those wins more than me.

I look at it like this, I'm a fan of a five time Super Bowl championship team and one time World Series champ. Those happened in my lifetime and those are the only ones that count.

Sure, I was 6 in 1981 when the 9ers won their first title, but I still remember my dad hugging me in our living room when we saw "the catch" and even going to dinner that night to celebrate. I remember watching Super Bowl XVI with my dad two weeks later and clapping during the pre-game roster intros, and really going ape ____ when they introduced Joe. I remember the goal line stand and I remember my dad crying when they won.

Those are memories no one can take from me. I don't need to reference championship wins that occurred before I was around, because there were none, and when it's all said and done all that matters is how happy those moments made me and how wonderful they are as memories now.

The World Series title was the highlight of my otherwise miserable year in 2010. Would I say that was a great team? No, but they were special.

I have no clue where I'm going with this post... just consider it a pointless rant. :lol

As I said I'm a fan of my teams and I claim the titles, bad seasons, etc that come with them. If others don't agree thats fine but I'm not a fan of those teams for you I'm a fan for me.

For the playoffs I'm rooting for the Cards and Tigers.

I am not a red sox fan , it's just seems like the pot calling the kettle black talking about epic failures when the yankees have the most epic failure in MLB ever.

I already pointed that out on an earlier post.

Besides, there's only one Yankee fan here......

Y4NK33 PL4N3T.

Yeah that sucked.

They just have to move forward and makes some changes. There are many people culpable in this mess Theo, Tito, and the players. My heart won't break if Epstein leaves. Maybe those Cubs rumors can come to fruition. Tito stays, IMO, it wasn't his fault. The majority of his staff needs to go though.

John Lackey must go. I know they're on the hook for another 3 years, but they need to find a way to get rid of him. Eat the money. Based on $8 beers and $5 Fenway franks they can afford it.

Wakefield has been a solid player for years, but it's time for old yeller to be taken out back.

Daisuke, probably won't be seen next year and even if he is it won't be until August. Another one of Theo's brilliant moves.

Papelbon is gone. It was nice while he was our idiot closer, but once he's on another team I'm sure I'll understand the hate he garners from others around the league.

Youkilis may need to be moved. His dream is to play for the Reds. Time to see if Cincy has interest/anything worthwhile.

JD Drew, thank god this ____ing contract is over.

I don't think the Reds would be interested in Youkilis. They seem set at 1st and 3rd to me. As a Rockies fan I'd love to see him here as our 3rd baseman. Maybe we can work out a deal to send you Huston Street to replace Papelbon and maybe Chris Iannetta and something else for Youkilis.

Sorry but this Boston collapse is now the worst in MLB history. :lecture:exactly: :lol

Idk if I'm he only NYY fan here, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who enjoys watching Boston lose. Just sayin :wink1:

Yes, in regular season history. But the Yankees still hold the playoff record.

.....And I do enjoy to watch the Sox lose as much as the Yanks. :wink1:

I'm talking overall worst collapse. When you hold the division lead for most of the year and going into September then manage to not only lose the division lead but not even make the post season :lol, that's worse imo than dropping a few games in a row in a short series to a team that went on fire and won the whole thing. Neither are pretty that's for sure :lecture
