Just got back in town from watching games 1&2 with my boy (his first baseball games ever!), and wanted to share some stuff -
- It always amazes me the "buzz in the air" during around a World Series game. I hope every baseball fan gets to enjoy at least one home WS game in their lifetime.
- Even more amazing was this year's price gouging on WS items. I thought '04 and '06 were bad, but this tops the cake. Items were at least 30% higher at the stadium than online, which was on top of the 20-30% bump because it said "2011 World Series".
- Why is security tighter for the daytime Baseball Tonight crew (Aaron Boone, Ozzie Guillen) than the nightime crew (Curt Schilling, John Kruk)?
- I see people calling out the Pujols play, and rightly so, but there was more chatter in the stadium about why Jay was playing so deep in the 9th. He's always played at the top of the arch in the grass (even in the 9th), and might have caught the bloop single that started the merry go-round if rightly positioned.
- Last but not least...to mikedanger - nice seats! from experience DO NOT sell company tix...they will find out.
also, check the MLB AtBat app before you head for the game. they offered us a MLB.com 20% off coupon when you check-in at the ballpark. it's good until Nov 1st and covers all the World Series gear (expect personalized stuff)! have fun down there!
