If he brings the Cards a second championship, I'd say he served them well. It's not like the fans won't show up if they can't resign him.

Sign a couple of superstars, with Waino back, they will still compete.

If Pujols stays...well, then fantastic.

I think a lot of people are putting too much thought into Cards fans' feelings about the whole ordeal. Especially if he brings them another championship.

Its the way the game works. I don't think fans are incapable of moving on by any means. And I don't think Pujols going to the Cubs all of a sudden makes them a contender.
But if I were the Cards I'd rather have Pujols than Holliday. Trade away Holliday, get some young players and sign Pujols.

I actually think the Cards are still in the driver's seat. They have Carpenter pitching tomorrow. I expect this series to go back to St. Louis with the Cards up 3-2 in games. If that happens, I only give the Rangers a 25% chance of winning the series.
