Thanks for the info. Although this will hurt, knowing the Cards organization, they'll be competitive next year. Besides, you got 2 championships out of him and not many teams can say that.

Yeah, this is still a very good team and depending on what else they do we'll be fine. The Cards have been winners before Pujols so they'll be winners afterwards. That we did and I expect we'll add more later.

They can be cheap with me like that for 9 years. :lol

While, I agree that turning down 254 million would be difficult he's nothing more than the typical money grubbing athlete. I saw on ESPN where he says he wants to live in St. Louis in the off season. If I was someone that lived there I'd tell him take his ass to LA and screw off.

Cheap ***** :)

Seriously cant blame the guy, living in California, change of scenery
etc.

I hope that was sarcasm.

California is not the "end all" either, despite what mfoga thinks.

The Angels will pay on the back end of that contract when Albert is washed up. If he helps brings them championships, more power to them.

The cheap ***** part was

Soooo youd rather shovel 30 feet of snow a year than live in California?

Apples to apples, spend 254 million dollars in Minnesota/Montreal or 254 millions dollars in Cali. When does the next plane leave?

so he jumped ship over $30 million he'll never see or spend lol

Yeah, anyplace between 30-50 million. Which is a lot but its more about what he's said over the years about wanting to be a Cardinal for life, and what the community has given him that he might not get in other cities. St. Louis is one of the best towns to play baseball in and he could have been the god of Cardinal baseball more so than many of the other greats that have played for them. He decided money he will never see or use was worth more than those things in St. Louis.

"Espn1500-Twin Cities" said the Angels signed a 3 billion, 20-year tv contract with its local Fox affiliate. That's $150 million a year in tv income.

To put that in perspective, the Minnesota Twins receive $29 million a year in tv money.

You can see why the Angels could afford both Pujols and C.J. Wilson.

I never said I wouldn't leave. All I'm saying is the west coast isn't all that.

I'd go anywhere for $254 million. That plane would be leaving for the French Riviera or Monaco. :wink1:

By the way, that 30 feet of snow in Minneapolis is 40 feet in Montreal. :lol

That's an incredible amount of money for a team that was 29th in ratings last year.

I suppose these new acquisitions will lead to increased attention for them, but they're still second fiddle to the Dodgers. An article I read today said their new TV contract could be upwards of $4 billion.:thud:

Angles weren't that bad last year. Now the Marlins....whoa....they wanted Pujols bad.....had a similar offer on the table for him. And they Angels are a much better organization than the Dodgers....when was the last time the Dodgers made the playoffs? Wow. No way are they second fiddle to the Dodgers....I bet they've had more attendance the last 3 years.
