Interesting move, but necessary to get a closer if they're going to follow through on their plan to move Feliz to the rotation.

After the deals Papelbon and Matt Kemp got, I'm not sure I can be surprised MLB contract dollar amounts anymore.

Yeah, the Twins were never going to spend that type of money on a 37 year-old closer especially when they're rebuilding.

I'm not a fan of this move at all. All the strides that this ownership group made in the last 10 years it seems like they've blown it all up in the last 3 months.:ohbfrank:

The only things I remember about Bobby Valentine is that he knows how to burn out bullpens and when he did this after being ejected....

It's funny, be a so-so manager, get fired, become an analyst for baseball on Espn and people think you're brilliant, get hired again. :lol

I think it's time for ownership to admit that Ben Cherington will be doing nothing in the organization but be a face with a title and that Lucchino will be pulling all the strings on any deal involving the Red Sox. What kind of GM gets put in place and it takes 2 months to hire a manager and they still can't figure out compensation for the former GM. Now I have heard that maybe the delay with Theo is they are trying to work a deal to get Garza but this whole situation and organization is getting kind of ridiculous..

Ron Santo was elected to the HOF by the Golden Era committee.

It just sucks that it happens almost a year to the day he passed away.

Can't wait to see Miami with the most expensive roster in the MLB and the most expensive stadium with 10,000 people in the stands. Just like the Heat. :lol
