Re: Making of HT Falconer Predator

to bad the body armor and accessories are not compatible with the other preds...

Re: Making of HT Falconer Predator

Nice pics.

I agree this figure is overpriced but I want a 1/6 Falconer so like the sucker I am, I'll cough up the money for him.
Same....:monkey2

I know, oh well. Hot Toys seems to be loosing their touch now a days...

Re: Making of HT Falconer Predator

Have they stated anywhere publicly why they're intentionally making the heads significantly smaller than the film? With their attention to detail I refuse to believe it's an oversight.

I'd like to know too. Also Berserker's jaw nees to be more square.

because plenty of collectors will buy it no matter how inaccurate it is. they have no incentive to give a ____.

It's a new body that's bigger than the normal ones. I doubt you'd be able to re-use the armor anyway. It's one of the costs of getting a new body, but I'm still totally pumped for these. They've got a few issues, but the overall sculpt and paint apps... gorgeous. Maybe I should go to Petco and get some fake moss and rocks. Make a little diorama like NECA for each row on my shelf.

The only thing I'm really surprised about is the head size. Usually, they make huge heads to look more like the actual suit. Here, they ditched it. HT is changing, but damn, they're making it look extremely appealing nevertheless. Accurate or not, the figure itself just looks pretty:

Yeah, I'm bummed about the accessories and slight problems. But really, so many of HT's figures have these that I'm used to it. The AVP's had their bendy dreads and brittle armor. The P2 had less-than-perfect head paint apps. The Wolf was done with a squished, puckered-up face. And don't even get me started on their Aliens (I'm sure you guys at least agree on that). With that in mind, these have turned out cooler than I thought they would've. Most detailed Pred figures they've done, it seems. Bring on Tracker, baby!! :rock

Hm. I'm surprised that there isn't a falcon. That's the most obvious thing. :impatient:

To be fair, you're going to have to wait for people to get the figure in hand before you know that the paint apps are any good, and the suffering from shrunken head syndrome and a lack of accessories is the only problems the figure has. The Predator 2 prototype had great paint apps too, after all.

Well, there is the paint that MAY be iffy but I was talking about sculpted on armor, small heads, short dreads and non-removable bios. There may be reasons for it but they haven't mentioned any yet.

QFTT! I wish we got the protoype P2 paint.

The only acessory it really lacks is the Falcon. Not much else needs to be included imho. The sculpt on the bio is damn near perfect, it's only flaw is that it's too small as you pointed out. I love the more proportioned head but damnit accuracy first.

Re: Making of HT Falconer Predator

I'm kind of liking the somewhat smaller head better, myself. Still, I don't know yet if I'll buy this one. I'm not too keen on not being able to remove his mask, but the addition of the falcon would have probably pushed me towards buying it anyway. Oh well. I may get it, but it's pretty far down the list right now.

Re: Making of HT Falconer Predator

Hot Toys looked into Madusa's eyes.. Now all the "Poseable Models" are turning to statue..err..stone.

Re: Making of HT Falconer Predator

Okay, so we'll wait for the in-hand figure. But HT has cleaned up their game since the P2. That was, what, 2007? This is 2010. I'm not saying the final releases are always perfect, but they're not too surprising or different from the prototypes. I guess the bottom line for me is, all HT figures have their innacuracies, but they still look great. By now, I'm used to that. While he is missing some key features, it won't stop me from buying him. It's not like I dunno which Predator it is when I look at it. Same goes for the P1 and all the others.

Hey not sure if this has been posted already but i see Joseph Tsang from hot toys has a youtube channel and has posted videos on the making of the predator skull.

The first picture looks like a new classic sculpt. I just realized that, awesome.
