Re: The Man of Steel

iunno.. for me, he had 3 hits in a row.

Dawn of the Dead (Remake)
300
Watchmen

Enjoyed all 3 and have watched all 3 multiple times.

I didn't even know he directed that POS owl movie at first. Tried watching that thing like twice and couldn't get through it either time. And Sucker Punch was just atrocious.

So who knows how Superman will turn out. :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

Well, he did work on both Sucker Punch and Legends of The Guardians at the same time, literally shooting SP during the day and then overseeing editing, FX and voice work on LotG at night... getting little to no sleep for about 2 1/2 months. He's been solely dedicated to MAN OF STEEL, ala Dawn of The Dead, 300 and Watchmen. Hopefully that makes you feel a little better. :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

It's all good. Never really liked Superman anyways so I don't care either way. :lol

Just could never get into that character. Probably because I've always gravitated toward villains and Superman's rogues gallery has always sucked ass.

I hear what you're saying. And certainly it hasn't helped that the movies have pretty much used only Luthor and Zod as Supes villains. IMHO, both Brainiac and Darkseid offer lots of interesting and huge cinematic possibilities. But the scary thing with them is that the studio would be tempted to go TOO big and CGI and we'd potentially get another Transformers/Battleship mess. :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

:lol Probably not.

Actually, there have been versions of Toyman that have been quite creepy and disturbing. Then there was also one (in the Batman/Superman: Public Enemies movie, I believe) who was just actually a brilliant kid who was good. Weird character. All over the map.

Re: The Man of Steel

Shannon's Zod could potentially equal any villain from The Dark Knight trilogy.

Re: The Man of Steel

He will be an epic Zod...

Re: The Man of Steel

Probably lends himself more to
Comparison with Neeson's Ra's IMO just due to the nature of the character and his dynamic with Superman

If he matches or tops that it would be great

Yes I wasn't comparing characters more the performance. Ledger's was the finer performance. Shannon is that good imo that he can equal it.

I agree that Superman lacks great villians. Shannon will take it to a new level.

Re: The Man of Steel

Beyond Zod though I'm not sure what villains they could use for Superman other than Braniac, Doomsday and Darkseid. Darkseid though is probably better saved for JLA in any case.

It's a tough one.
