Re: The Man of Steel

I'm pretty sure Teddy is only referencing his performance.

:lecture

Yes, sorry I didn't make that very clear.

So long as all the elements align, I'm sure it can be done. It might not be as revered with the psychos and all, but I'm certain that if the conditions match, the performace will as well.

I remember reading some early thoughts from someone in the industry that had seen some footage and they said Shannon was pure evil. It reminded me of back before anyone had seen Heath yet and Michael Caine made a similar statement about the first scene he did with Heath coming out of the elevator and how it scared the ____ outta him. Michael Shannon certainly has the chops.

With the exception of the look of him flying in the teaser, I've yet to really be disappointed by anything I've seen. That even includes the suit. So I'm hoping that continues.

Still can't top Brando and Williams:

Really sounding like the Heath scenario again isn't it.

Also get the feeling trailer footage of Zod will be limited just how the joker trailer footage was.

Re: The Man of Steel

Then I'm guessing you weren't around in 1978.
That poor bastard Zimmer, I don't envy him.

I was -7 yrs old :lecture

I love the Williams theme but for me it harkens to another time, perhaps a simpler time.

I can understand those who are older and grew up with the CR/Williams combo have a greater reverence for it.

I look forward to Snyders take, I think he's an excellent film maker.
But Reeve and Williams were cinematic lightning in a bottle.
I do wish those flicks had todays cgi magic however.

If by "simpler" you mean less jaded and not so rectally retentive, then I agree. :exactly:

I mainly mean world with fewer problems, less moral corruption amongst the masses, more idealism, more patriotism (not just in the US), etc.

Superman deals with a lot of these themes so I think the character needs a re-interpenetration for modern times.
