Re: The Man of Steel

If that trailer had that music, and that voice over, i'd be the same crap as the Total Recall movie. MAKE IT DIFFERENT. Even if it'll never be better. Failed different is better then "dull the same".

The original film is a classic. They shouldn't even try to top it. Just try to make the best film they can.

Re: The Man of Steel

Ah right on, put me down for Darkseid then coz he's a frikkin BOSS! He's a Kirby character right? I'ma get my Darkseid Super Powers fig out and start working on the animatics for Man Of Steel 2.

This would make for an interesting choice especially since marvel is pursuing Thanos as an on screen villain.

I loved the old Superman the Movie when I was a kid but when I look at it as a film now it was really bad. The only three things that were good about it were:
John Williams
Marlon Brando
Christopher Reeve

Everything else was crap.

Superman II was my favorite for a long time and it was great as a sequel but yet again I look at it now and realize just how deluded I was back then. Terrance Stamp will always be Zod to me but I have high hopes for this movie.

Superman is my all time favorite DC hero but you guys are right about the line up of baddies. A hero is only as good as the villain he is up against.

There really aren't many recognizable bad guys that can match Kal-El in power. You almost have to be able to outsmart the boy scout and be 100 steps ahead of him. Like Luthor could have poison gas being released in every school and orphanage country wide while simultaneously robbing the worlds water supply and throw in a little peril for Lois Lane while we are at it for it to be a fair fight.

:dunno

Terrance Stamp was crap, but made such an impact in that movie that he will always be Zod to you?

I don't understand that, sorry. I mean unless you're saying he was such horrible and utter crap he burned his horrid performance into your mind? :cuckoo:

Re: The Man of Steel

Superman the movie is ____awesome and people dissing it are just weirdos. Yes we need a new take on Supes but please don't be dissing one of the greatest (the greatest ever?) superhero movies of all time.

Re: The Man of Steel

I love the original films but I do agree we need a new vision now.

Even more interesting since Thanos was a direct ripoff of Darkseid and Marvel/Stan Lee giving Kirby the middle finger.

Sorry. I meant the first movie was terrible. I mean Otis? Really? Straight awful. I like Gene Hackman but not as Lex Luthor. Just not evil enough. The second one is much better because of the villains. And the fact he gives up his powers and gets his ass beat. Which I loved. Learns a bit of humility.

No. I'm just saying I have a great love for the character and the movies because they were the first time I saw Superman and believed. They have a special place in my heart but they are really bad. My love for bad movies is torn. Flash Gordon, Krull, Beast Master to name a few. All bad but I do love them.

So when I say they are bad it's not that I didn't think they were great then but they did not stand the test of time well at all. I can distance myself enough from them to admit they were bad movies.

Maybe I'm alone. Not trying to offend. Just being honest and speaking my mind. Hope you guys can respect that.
