Re: The Man of Steel

Boyscout mentality doesnt work well in today's world...yesterdays yes...remember that Nolan is an influence too...LOL

Ironically, this is why Iron Man is more popular than Captain America ATM, and a truer/modern representation of an "American" hero.

Re: The Man of Steel

With the exception of a few notes, you can easily trade the Green Lantern soundtrack with the BB/TDK/TDKR soundtrack. I don't want to see that happen with Superman too. Here's hoping Zimmer goes against the grain for a change.

We shall see...But for some reason or another I'm sure there will be some slight similar sections...we will see...All I care about is storyline Nam at the moment and hope it is as great as TDK was:horror...LOL

Yup...The "Western Hero"(Neal Young) is almost no more....Money is God for many nowadays

Yeah, America has changed. The world has changed.

So pop culture changes with it.

That's another reason I think the time is right for a re-telling of the Superman story in the context of the current world.

Which I'm hoping they embrace more as a "fish out of water" aspect than reinventing Superman's foundation. Ironically having him come from Kansas would still ring true to Superman's original mentality as the "small town" mentality hasn't changed much over the years. If anything, it reinforces Supes' "golly-gee" aspect even more.

Re: The Man of Steel

it is not ZOD's suit I guess, this is something bigger than ZOD's suit...

Re: The Man of Steel

So far so good with this, looking forward to it. Also looking forward to hearing the score. I liked all the scores from TDK trilogy but Begins is still my favorite of the three, score and film wise.

Re: The Man of Steel

Visually, looks like Zack's best flick. He's toning down his style, and I appreciate that.

Re: The Man of Steel

The music reminds me of something from Man on Fire :dunno
Lisa Gerrard did some of the music from that movie as well.

The fact that it's already reminding people of Zimmer's snoozefest body of work makes me even more worried. There's not much distinction there.

I love Zimmer....some of my favorite soundtracks are from him....Gladiator, POTC, Inception, etc.... His musical scores gives me goosebumps and in my opinion add to any scene..whether it be uplifting, haunting, action oriented or apprehension. I'm psyched for this movie! :D

Re: The Man of Steel

Soundtrack sounds like a temp, like Gladiator outtakes. Someone is going to re-cut this trailer with John Williams music and it will work ten times better.

I think Nam is right on that Superman should be a boy scout, idealist and maybe a bit naive. The character is 70 years old and and doesn't need to be updated to work in today's world. Quite the opposite if anything.

Pa Kent telling Clark he should've left a schoolbus in the water doesn't ring true. Jor-El might've said something like that. Jor-El is the knowledge, Pa Kent is the heart.

Lots of shots have that synthetic feel like 300. I hated that. It's going to be a problem for me.

Amy Adams :inlove I don't know if Cavill can really act but she'll pull his weight. She's awesome.

Re: The Man of Steel

Haven't seen the trailer yet, at work.

Is dat Zod?

I thought that still was taken from a videogame cut scene from WOW.

Doesn't look like a real person.
