Re: The Man of Steel

If the movie fails, Zack will get the blame. If it works and is a hit, Nolan will get pretty much all of the credit. This has already been written in the stars. :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

Zimmer's best work is from non-superhero flicks.

Back Draft, the Rock, the Lion King, all superior in my opinion. Even Rain Man and Driving Miss Daisy takes the cake. In the 90s, he was in his prime.

His best modern soundtrack is Pirates of the Caribbean in my opinion. The Bat flicks are alright but he's done much better work and Elfman's score is pretty close to perfection.

But my nigga Jawn William's KILLLZ it. Jaws, Stah Wahs, Jurassic Park, Superman, ****ing Home Alone! Doesn't get much better. The guy was a orchestrating machine. I don't care what generation or interpretation the Supes is from, any time you hear the music it's SUPERMAN! You can even hear it in the score.

Re: The Man of Steel

That's CR Superman's score.

This ain't CR Superman, in fact i'm 100% certain this will be quite a bit different than that version.

:huh

Worked for Routh so your point's invalid. :pfft:

Can't we just leave the Nolan *****ing in the TDKR thread? :dunno

Unfortunately, there're too many people here with Nolan's peepee on their breath, so that wouldn't work.

Sad thing is...Zimmer just helped out on the first pirates movie. Klaus Badelt was the lead composer on that one.

For me Zimmer's best is Inception, The Thin Red Line and TDKR. Last Samurai and POTC are pretty great too.

JW's best for me, Jaws, Jurassic Park and Superman. Great scores. Perfect for their films. I just prefer Zimmer's style especially on tracks like Time, Journey to the End of the Line and Why do we Fall. The way the tracks build up in waves is what really gets me.

No Indiana Jones? :dunno

Re: The Man of Steel

You're smarter than that.

Routh Supes was WRITTEN to be a continuation of Superman 1 & 2, and it was an homage to those films. The entire film was built with those films in mind.

Not so with MoS.

Doesn't matter. Fact: Superman/Clark wasn't played by Chris Reeve. Your post is still invalid. :pfft:

Re: The Man of Steel

Where is that being argued?

The contention is that JW's score is not appropriate for this version of Superman.

But doesn't the Bond theme work for Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan, and Craig? Yes. Yes it does. It transcends the actor and is iconic to the character. I still think the theme should be include even if the rest is "mood music."

Surprisingly it is those who don't care for Nolan that are bringing him up the most. :lol

I hope this movie kicks ass. It will be successful, no doubt...because it's Superman. But I do hope it gets much praise for Zach. Sadly though, Carl probably is right about the pats on the back going to mostly Nolan.
