Re: The Man of Steel

If Rory's major notable complaint about one of Zack's movies is "too much CG" you should take that as a positive sign. :lol

Yeah, there's a lot of CG in this flick. And it looks great. Better than most recent blockbusters.

And plenty of the movie "feels real".

Exactly :lecture
:lol

I love great CG (A good 70-80% of my work is CG), and there is a lot of great CG in this movie. But MOS does get a little digitally overwhelmed at times...IMO. That's a pretty minor quibble.
(Zack's other movies: you forget I loved "Watchmen", liked "300" and was very impressed by "DOTD". It's just one movie I have issues with, I shall not mention it's name in this thread!)

Leaving little "I totally hated the movie, but i'm being cryptic about it" posts aren't that interesting.

Grumpy Celtic? It's just a bit of fun. I never said I hated the movie? quite the opposite? and to repeat what I said a few pages back, I hope it's huge, absolutely massive. It will be I'm pretty sure, and deservedly so.

We're not thrilled with the amount of stuff WB is throwing out there now. They promised to hold back more, but apparently they're so jazzed about the flick that they can't help themselves and are doubling-down on the marketing. That's a good thing, I guess. But the plan was always to have people to go into the movie without expecting what's about to hit them. The latest trailers and TV spots don't spoil everything, but they give you a pretty darn good feel for what you're gonna get.

It's a good thing that I haven't watched the last four TV spots. I think I watched the first one, and the last trailer, and that was it.

Kind of sad that Snyder doesn't have more say in what gets shown. :(

Re: The Man of Steel

The thing is trying to get the general public to get excited to see a Superman movie again. I hear a lot of "the last movie sucked" and "Superman is so cheesy". I totally get that WB is showing us a lot of the action to get people to see how awesome this is looking. I am a manager at a movie theater and I keep telling customers MOS is THE movie of the summer. But a lot of them give me the reactions I posted. I have made it my crusade to tell them how it's a new take on the character unlike any they have ever witnessed. I put the Zod trailer in front of every film I play through the day :lol and it is getting great reactions.

Re: The Man of Steel

I'm getting more excited for this movie after seeing the new Zod trailer. IM3 was slow and dull, time for Supes to pick up the slack!

Re: The Man of Steel

One of the people we went to the movies today said that this movie was going to a total pos because they didn't cast Tom Welling. :lol

...and then they said the director should stick with marvel movies. :rotfl

...and this was all said in total seriousness. :cuckoo:

Re: The Man of Steel

Tom Welling would've made nice Jimmy Olsen. :lol

do you mean Jenny Olsen? :google

I Loved Smallville, loved Tom Welling, and always wanted him to be on the bigscreen as Supes but that time has passed, its time to pass it down to another actor and Henry is taking it on like a beast! hes giving it his all and hes going to be the Superman for this decade or however long this series goes, I have faith in it. I have Hope.

i cant stop from watching the TV spots, there gold.

Dude thats awesome!!! KEEP IT UP!

Re: The Man of Steel

Tom welling never wanted to play superman, he thought the whole idea was stupid. He only begrudgingly accepted the role in smallville after they begged him and changed the story so there was no flights no tights, since he refused to ever wear the "ridiculous" suit.

I would never want an actor who refuses to wear the suit to play the part. Regardless of what his reason for not doing so maybe. He was lucky he got cast in smallville and they made those changes for him, otherwise he would only have the fog and 15 minutes of cheaper by the dozen on his acting resume. I don't think the guy likes to act and definitely doesn't want to be famous, if we see him cast in anything other then a special guest on Arrow I'll be surprised. He seems content with producing crappy cw shows
