Re: The Man of Steel

First two seasons are pretty solid and some great episodes in the third one :dunno
Then restless diarrhea has started...

Smallville is crap.

Smallville is crap.

Re: The Man of Steel

There was some good stuff in Smallville. Season 4 was not good. The Lana Lang wicked witch tangent was just ridiculous. The rest of the seasons weren't terrible on the whole. There were some terrible episodes in there ... but there were also a few gems fairly evenly distributed throughout. For every few gimmicky nonsensical teenybopper episodes, there was one or two that were worthy of the Superman mythology.

I tended to think it got better as it went along. Had each season been boiled down to the 8-12 essential episodes, it could've been great. There was an awful lot of filler, though. Took way too long to move past Lana ... and they just drove her character off a cliff, for some reason ... like they couldn't figure out what to do with her after about Season 2 or 3.

Re: The Man of Steel

Just saw that last tv spot.

That woman soldier wants Superman's D.

Re: The Man of Steel

Don't worry, Superman doesn't fly in this movie, he just jumps really, really far.

Re: The Man of Steel

Ugh...leave it to WB to figure out some way to wreck some of the hype for this movie.

I understand that the marketing for this movie is going to aim some at Cavill's looks in order to attract female movie-goers but was that "I think he's kinda hot" really necessary?

I don't ever recall any little segment like that in any of the Dark Knight trilogy trailers.

Then again, we do have Joel Schmaucher to thank for all the gratuity in the last two Burton Batman movies. :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

do you mean Jenny Olsen? :google
So.. he won't wear a Superman costume - but he'll wear a dress? :lol

Smallville is crap.
:lol I gave it a shot way back when - disliked it from the get go.

That part was the first dumb thing i've seen from this movie.

Did we really need a horny soldier.
Yeah, I also thought that was a silly inclusion there too - dumb, agreed. :lecture

Across oceans of stars. :lecture

Wait, no, that's General Doz.
I wonder if he & RAAACHEEEELL are related.

:nono That's insulting to feces.
I bet that faeces doesn't give a shat though.. :D :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

Batman has something worst than a female getting hot for a supergoodlookinmale. The dude saying to Gordon "cool car man" that has to be the most forced lamest humor ive seen in ages in a movie, felt so out of place. You can feel it was a last minute addition to lighten up the mood same as the " gotta get me one of those" Gordon says when he sees the tumbler for the first Time.
This soldier getting hot works fine here, humor works with superman.
And since hes actually hot :)

Re: The Man of Steel

It shouldn't shock anyone to learn that the line is leftover from the original draft by David Goyer. :lol

Seriously, though, it was full of stuff like that and way too many fanboy references. Most were stripped out, but this one is still there. It's not too bad in the context of the film itself, though.

It's not really that bad a line even in the context of the trailer. We have all hheard far worse(looking at you romantic dialogue from Attack of the Clones). It honestly doesn't bother me at all. Everything else about this looks awesome. A little levity never hurt anything, plus it looks as though this will have a serious tone overall, so I can accept that.
