Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

I really hope Zach Snyder at least considers Welling! I mean its smallville season 10, hes going to be Superman full on in may suit an all so i think its a good idea!

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

Nuff said.

I've been talking with friends all day about this. Most of us are happy that Snyder got the gig. The rest who weren't just don't like all the slow-mo stuff from Snyder but I think they dig the idea that Nolan is acting as a hands on producer. I myself don't like the idea of any connection to the previous Donner films (Superman Returns included). I think you need to cut ties with what's come before and reboot the franchise from top to bottom. And don't do a straight up origin story either. Begin with Clark already established in Metropolis as Superman. That's my two cents. Zod works since Superman will now have someone to hit and hit hard. With what can be done these days with effects, a super powered battle between both characters has coolness written all over it. Plus, Superman will actually get to hit somebody, which was totally lacking in Superman Returns. And about the suit. Don't screw around with it like they did in Returns. Just give us the classic Superman suit and make that "S" BIG! Just sign the actor in the above photo and you've got the beginnings of what could be a genre defining film.

Apparently rumors have been going around about Hamm for awhile now. I like it. I would prefer acting before looks in any decision they make.

Don Draper is sooo cool but he is not Clark Kent...more like Bruce Wayne.

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

The only thing I didnt like about the "Returns" suit was the chest logo was too small and the yellow "S" was missing on the cape.
I didnt mind the muted colors.
The contour lines and such made it look a little futuristic looking which is appropriate given that he's alien and also called "the man of tomorrow."
You gotta love a guy who's confident enough to wear his underwear on the outside. :wink1:
When bullets bounce off your chest you can get away with that stuff.

...and while we're at it,if you want mature manly men, lets get in our wayback machine and bring back Clint Walker for the role::yess:

From Dark Horizons;
One possibility already shot down though is Brandon Routh returning as the Man of Steel. Snyder tells Variety that the chances of the "Superman Returns" star coming back into the fold are "unlikely" as "we're looking in another direction".

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

I do hope this will turn out good. Everyone thought Singer was going to make a bad ass Superman movie after he did the 2 X-Men movies, look how that turned out.

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

Originally I was not that struck on Hamm playing Supes but I must say I am really liking the idea now, he looks perfect to me!

I am with Wofford, I think the soap star/pop star/pretty boy Superman does not do alot for me either

I think Hamm all the way with a dark undertone to the film would be good imo

Oh and very minimal re-design to the CR Superman suit also
