Re: The Man of Steel

I would leave kid with wife at Disney and sneak off for MOS, but that's just me. :lol

Leaving my wife alone in Disney World with three kids, her in-laws, my brother and his girlfriend, and my sister and her boyfriend doesn't seem like all that great an idea. Heh. I can get away with a lot -- but I'd never hear the end of that.

I'd have better odds if I took her with me. We are escaping for a couple of hours for dinner at Emeril's in Universal.

It's a June 15th release right?

Take the kids to Disneyland all day then take the whole family too see it at about 5pm when our guys normally take a break. The kids will probably take a nap during the movie and when they wake up you will be on your way back to Disneyland for the last few hours until the park closes. If you plan it out right it can work. Assuming you that u break for a few hours back at the hotel for dinner or what not anyway. If your family normally stays inside the park all day from 9am to close then I can see how it may be difficult.

If you want to sell your wife on this idea, scan all the rides you want to go on with fast track, with all those tickets you should be able to reserve a lot of rides. Start at 9 am scanning every ticket (even those who dont ride like elderly) every two hours then tell your wife that instead of standing in line we can watch the movie and still get to experience just as much if not more and avoid the lines to boot.

I am Disney fast pass pro, the catch is you just need a big party. Your party is big so scan those tickets every two hours and work the system. Only problem is you may have to offer to walk with all the tickets to scan the rides u want (its a lot of walking) but its worth it.

Standing in line waiting 2 hours for a little over 2 rides rides or fast tracking all your tickets all day and again right before u leave to see an awsome movie then upon reentry the kids get 4-5 rides in a row without waitimg using the saved up fast tracks. Two hour fast track time wait and a 2.5 hour movie. Soon as you get back in the park u can fast track again

Re: The Man of Steel

Just read BIRTHRIGHT for the first time. In the story, a massive
"Kryptonian invasion" is staged by Luthor to make the public fear their new protector.

Since MAN OF STEEL supposedly draws from the graphic novel, and superhero movies these days love their twists, I wonder if they'd go down that route and have "Zod" be a patsy for the man behind the curtain. Especially since Zod was a non-entity in the comics before the movies made him a household name.

Could be farfetched, but you never know.

I was under the impression that in this incarnation superman only comes out to protect the public from zod who demands that superman turns himself over to him. Luther won't have anything to do with zod coming here nor will it be part of a scheme make them fear supes. The GP in this movie will already fear supes because he is an alien with crazy powers however they don't know about him until zod arrives and forces him to come out of the closet. Zod only comes here because the crashed ship/fortress of solitude sends out a beacon intended for kal'el/other kryptonians and it is picked up by black zero, Zods ship. In fact, that ship/fortress was carrying frozen kryptonian science babies and was meant to find a suitable environment, teraform it and start a new kryptonian way of life on said planet

They are having 12:01 screenings of Man of Steel next week at my IMAX. Do you really not have midnight shows any more in your area?

Maybe they're bringing it back. But it's been 10pm showing on Thursday.

**** that. Kids are still up. Only the REAL die hards go to midnight showings. :yess:

Keeps the texters at bay. Unless I go to the Alamo.

I don't think that'll be the case with the movie. I think it's more likely to be like the Earth One graphic novel from the looks of things. Although I have heard that they draw from Birthright too. One of the things I'm really looking forward to is seeing what elements they take from what stories.

This version seems to be pulling heavily from the Superman: Earth One graphic novel. In that one Clark does not want to be Superman. He is struggling looking for his place in the world. He only becomes Superman, when an alien invasion happens, and the aliens are looking for him. That's when he decides to become Superman.

Nothing a steady red bull diet can't fix...

Drink 4 red bulls in the morning, 2 at lunch and another at 3pm and you should be able to maintain normal job functions. Side effects may vary
