Oh Jesus, between this and Rebelscum's board crying about prices this is becoming a bit much. Don't get me wrong I have wondered about SSC choices of late (release schedule, characters, what's up with Hasbro's stranglehold on Indy) but I still enjoy the hell out of my 12" dollies, Indy PF, and Alien/Predator dios so maybe people should just chill and collect what you like and stop taking things so seriously. This is a choice not a necessity.

This seems the most serious post in the thread. People need to take other people's posts with a grain of salt and stop caring if they are whining or not.

I don't know because just about every thread contains this crap. And if you don't think you are not seeing inflation at the grocery store than you aren't paying very close attention. ;)

Well then it must be true. It sure would be helpful if an SS Rep took notice. I agree SS has surely fallen in the last couple of years. There is no reason why SS and Hot Toys can be top caliber together. This whole thing came about when SS started chasing Movie Licenses and paying top royalty. The Universal Monsters and Historical figures put SS on the map, and now where are they?, so far away from their roots that they are like a chicken with no head. Sure they have had some cool, fun ideas but their execution on delivery and Paint Aps keep hindering them. I almost wish SS got out of the Hollywood Spotlight and started becoming creative again and give us those unique, and interesting characters of old. Han Carbo is cool, but $200? Does SS know their target audience. Sure there are a million SW fans but anyone should know SW is usually for the younger crowd. Do they have the money, or do they just have the desire to own? Most only have the desire to own, and ask, and ask, and ask for more characters, yet when made they sit on the shelf because SS listened only to the majority and not to the true fan base that fallow through on their pre-orders. Sure cancelations are granted, but SS needs to take notice which lines continue to get the most cancelations and take notice of the complaints, and disappointments.
Right now some heavy complaints are: Price, Prometheus' loose body, and Paint Aps. How about cutting the graphics department a bit, cut down on box space and artwork (Hell, these figures should be out of the box! Free your figures!) Less twisties, and tie-downs, I wonder after mark-up how much do we really pay for those boxes? I know some collectors really like cardboard, but how many really? Maybe the Box itself should be the exclusive! Plain box $1. or Artsy box, $10!
I know the economy is tight but dinosaurs like Ford, that don't improvise, adapt, and overcome, pass to the wayside and are left to decay into dust.

Sideshow has certainly lived up to their name... they be sitting on the "side" while Hot Toys is the main attraction. :monkey1

where are the hoes..

no it's not where the hoes at?

it more like- " ta' fu--cks the hoodrats at cuh?:monkey3:D

Just what we needed another whine fest.
Who's whining? I just miss the good old days, that's all. You had a wide variety of classic characters, from some of the best movie licences, at an affordable price. I intended this thread to be a memorial to the glory days of Sideshow Toys, not arrogant people whining about other people's whining.

My latest pickup was the 1:1 scale Endoskeleton bust from Terminator. Pretty bad ass to me...

Honestly I didn't take this thread as a whining thread so much as a nostalgic/looking back on yesteryear kind of thing... and I agree. I long for the days when Sideshow was king of 1:6. (in many ways they still are though).

I love how Sideshow give you the option to purchase Hot Toys or Medicom alongside there own figures. But here we go again, moan, moan , moan.

There are tough times ahead. Sideshow may have to produce items that have a wide appeal just to get them though this credit crunch.
Let's hope Sideshow (an American company ) continue to have great success. Because I would miss there figures and there prices eg. Indy half the price of Medicom's and hundred times better

Universal Monsters is a nice license, but really how far could they have floated that old thing in 1/6th scale?

They moved on to dios and PFs for that line and that was a wise decision, IMO.
