^ According to this board, it doesn't.
I think this would be an appropriate time for a Devil-shop of a Curiosity picture with a Decepticon shadow in it.
Sad thing is, if those were actually discovered, some dumbass scientist would want to capture one and bring it here to study and dissect.
You Wouldn't Want to see that?
I would want that, along with any other "life" left on the planet it's on. We know this fictional character is synonymous with doom and disaster. But think about the potential effects of microbial life, bacteria, viruses, etc. Right now there are several on our own planet we can't even really treat (likely millions more we don't even know about). The potential of something extraterrestrial should be downright terrifying.
that makes sense,
Emission reduction would come from alternative fuels which would be cheaper than fossil fules, curing disease frees up government funds wasted in research and treatment and medical advancements helps people (like amputees) to re-integrate back into society which cuts back on the need for public assistance and specialized programs. But you could just as easily have figured that out yourself with a little common sense, if you were doing more than just trolling.
Way to make crap up, your "common sense" in each of those cases is either just wrong or the solution ends up costing more than the problem which makes for a big waste of money.
A concept often overlooked by scientists in their passion for knowledge and appeasement of curiosity.
Really? Because freeing up funds to go toward things like the current, non-existent government grants for education, more funding into education to lower the strain on schools and lower tuition costs so those who're unemployed get some help with re-education to find new work just creates more problems and is a big waste of money? There's more to seeding an economy than writing checks to freeloaders. Wasting $2bil to poke around on a dead planet contributes NOTHING.

NASA - 20 billion $/year
Militairy/war - 650-700 billion $/year
And you want NASA to save the money? I've already summed up why this mission isn't useless at all on one of the previous pages.
Everything is an argument.
