I'm serious, though. There's good casting, and then there's that. It's probably unintentional, but they say a picture's worth a thousand words, and that looks like Wilson Fisk standing there. Not just the build and the look, but even his facial expression. It's like "these morons have no idea who I really am." There's a smugness to it. I highly doubt that's what was actually going through D'Onofrio's mind (unless he's going full blown method), but, I don't know, it just seems fantastic. Especially with RDJ in the foreground, it's like Fisk is rubbing shoulders with the upper crest of the MCU and they don't even know it.:lol

I hear ya. I just wish we could be saying this about both companies.

I agree, but I'm giving DC the benefit of the doubt. That's one thing I've not had many problems with. Cavill, however controversial his iteration of the character may be, is probably the closest we've ever seen to the comic book Superman, in terms of appearance. Eisenberg's the only real uncertainty, for me. Gadot's got my vote unless her acting in the film totally sucks, and Affleck is the highlight, for me, right now, and he's one of the biggest reasons why I believe in the film. I think he's spent a hell of a long time, and put a hell of a lot of effort into rebuilding his image, and he's made a lot of good choices, and he's been very selective. The fact of the matter is that, if WB fails, Affleck's arguably got more to lose than the studio, and, with his track record, I don't see him taking that risk unless he genuinely believed in the project.

I was good with Cavill's casting, his look, hell, even the new 52-inspired suit. The story ruined that though. I'm hoping Affleck can aim that franchise back over toward what Marvel is doing and embrace the superheroes rather than be embarrassed by them. If Marvel's going all out and making even these great inspired choices for something like a Netflix series, WB has no excuse. :lol

I agree 100%. You know me, nam, and you know I'm going to say I liked Man of Steel,:lol and I did, but that movie was not without its issues, and it had quite a few of them. Like you, though, I'm hoping that Affleck's the push they need. The fact that Terrio was doing rewrites leads me to believe the guy's got influence, so, here's hoping. Personally, though, I don't think it's too late. My hope is that DC's going to evolve the Man of Steel Superman into a more optimistic, comicesque Superman, as these films go on, but, I intend to roll with the punches. If it doesn't work out, at least I'll have the Marvel stuff, but, like you said, two companies doing great things means double the fun, so, bring on 2016.

Great post.

Well said about Affleck as well.

I'm not a big Daredevil fan, and when I found out Marvel is making a TV series based on the character for Netflix, I thought ok cool whatever. Then I heard D'Onofrio was going to play fisk and I immediately got excited. I would have never thought of him to play the character but once they announced it I thought he'd be perfect for the role. And now seeing this picture only confirms it.

In my own mind, when Terrio says 'rewrites' I envision him using Goyer writing as toilet paper. :lol

After seeing him as the crazy dad in Leftovers, I can definitely see him nailing this performance perfectly. Glenn was great, actually wanted him to have more screentime.

OFFICIAL: Krysten Ritter Confirmed For A.K.A. JESSICA JONES; Series Will Premiere In 2015

Marvel and Netflix have announced today that Krysten Ritter is playing Jessica Jones in Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones. That's the title they were planning on using when the series was being eyed for ABC a number of years ago, but it's not the only piece of news in the report over at Marvel.com. The 13-episode series will follow Daredevil in 2015! The offical synopsis for the series reveals that,"After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City." So, she's a police detective rather than a P.I.? It sounds like that's the case!

Executive producer and showrunner Melissa Rosenberg says, "Krysten brings both the hard edge and the vulnerability the role demands. We can't wait for fans to see her in action, coming to Netflix in 2015." It remains to be seen whether or not Luke Cage and Iron Fist also reach us next year, but at least we know two of the shows are coming our way pretty soon. Fellow producer and Marvel's Head of Television Jeph Loeb had this to say about the casting. "Krysten Ritter has the type of range, spanning the comic to the tragic, that makes for the stuff of the best Marvel heroes. As Jessica Jones, Krysten will bring one of the most beloved new characters of the past decade to life in a way we know will delight her longtime fans and introduce her to many more."
