Looking cool!

I really hope this turns out well. Daredevil is my second favorite superhero and I'd love to see that he's done justice. Even though I like Batman better, Daredevil has my favorite comic book runs.

Now I have to figure out how this Netflix thing works! All I've been doing to get my movies and tv season sets is renting from various libraries and Family Videos.

Netflix is accessible on almost anything. Game systems, smart blu rays, smart tvs, cell phones (probably the primary source for many), and so on. It really ain't bad. Sucks cause I have too much I want to watch now. :lol

Thank goodness it looks and feels like a quality criminal drama and not one of those crappy DC shows.

Not superheroic enough though. At least so far.

Thaaaaat looks pretty freakin awesome. I shall be tuning in or loading up or whatever the kids are calling it these days. :pfft:

Looks excellent! Does Netflix release its series on DVD or Blu Ray? I'd like to buy the seasons if they release them.

Yeah, does look great. I really am more excited about this than either of the Marvel movies this year.

Daredevil isn't really supposed to be, in a traditional way. He's a conflicted man, dealing with issues that are much darker than the stuff some other "heroes" have to deal with on a regular basis. Gang stuff like drugs, prostitution, and racketeering, and seeing the effects on people. And questions of faith, and his conflicts over good and evil has played a strong role in the comics going back to the work Frank Miller started. This is subject matter much more suitable to a Man of Steel aesthetic.

Regarding powers, DD does have "super" powers, but they're just his enhanced senses. Physically, he's just a well trained fighter.

I know, Kara. :lol

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, just that it kinda doesn't fit into overall MCU tone.
Maybe I'm wrong and it does, maybe not.

I don't think there is a real consistent tone with the MCU. Sure, they haven't been overly dark, but from Thor to Cap to Iron Man to Guardians there are some pretty major differences in how the subject matter is approached.

And I think one of the major reasons for these shows is that Marvel was interested in exploring the "grittier," less fantastic side of the Marvel U.

And unfortunately they didn't have the rights to Superman or the Fantastic Four so were stuck telling gritty non-fantastic stories with guys like Daredevil. A pity.

I cannot freaking wait for this series. Seems like it has right look and mood that I was hoping to get from the show. I'm so glad it's on Netflix so I don't have to wait every week for another episode.

Exactly. Hopefully the next GOTG can be humorless and depressing though, because that's what modern audiences demand of subject matter that previously hadn't been handled that way.

Kevin Feige just announced that Nationwide Insurance will be handling the dialogue for the next six Marvel films so it sounds like you should get your wish.
