dude, Mike Colter looks SMALL. Not sure how he got cast as Luke Cage given he literally has minimal muscle mass in the early pictures. I'm not so sure about that casting.

Snipes needs to return as Blade, that is all.

Be nice if he at least had some role, as a show of appreciation for what he did for the comic movie genre as a whole. Though he's a bit long in the tooth to be playing Blade at this point, IMO. Make him Dracula, maybe!

I would actually go for old man Blade. Why not? But based on Eddie Murphy's previous attempt at playing a vampire. . .not so sure about that :lol

Maybe Charlie Murphy. He's got the moves!

Not interested in JJ either. Punisher would have been a more appealing choice. Blade or Morbius would have been cool too.

Well, I was only joking about Punisher or GTFO, obviously too late now to alter their current lineup.

I could be wrong but was Punisher ever even a member, I don't believe so.

Apparently people are going nuts for Jessica Jones who are working on it. Loeb said that people who liked Daredevil are going to be blown away by Jessica Jones, hopefully optimistic here.

Now I've hated Loeb after the atrocities known as Ultimates 3 and Ultimatum.

That being said, him running the Netflix show, after Dardevil, I have faith in what he's doing and trust his words, I'm eagerly anticipating Jessica Jones :lol

According to Bleeding Cool (who tend to be a little hit and miss with scoops, but do have a good track record), Daredevil and his fellow Defenders will make their big screen debuts in Avengers: Infinity War - Part Two. There's no details on whether that will be a cameo appearance or something more, but Marvel will clearly pull out all the stops for the movie. By 2019, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist will have more than likely had starred in at least a couple of seasons each, not to mention The Defenders. Could an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War - Part Two lead to them getting solo movies in "Phase 4"? I'd say it's definitely possible! In other news, the site also mentions that Agent Carter is "75%" confirmed for a second season. Stay tuned for more.

This is interesting if it comes to pass

I am hoping that at least Daredevil makes it into the movies. Cameo in Civil War would even be cool if there is a registration act and they mention or show him as a masked here they want revealed.

Daredevil and Iron Fist will more than likely get two seasons. I think Jones and Cage should split a second season. Can't wait for aka Jessica Jones!

I wish they would forget about these other lesser characters and focus on Daredevil season 2.

  • Marvel TV Needs To Use The Punisher As A Villain

Let The Punisher battle The Defenders!

By DEVIN FARACI Jun. 02, 2015

What to do with The Punisher?

My old pal El Mayimbe has launched a new site, Heroic Hollywood, and one of his first articles is a nice rundown of Marvel TV’s “Phase Two” plans and hopes. He writes:

The powers that be at Marvel have also been toying with the idea of adding characters like Punisher, Bladeand Ghost Rider, but there are risks with each of those characters. Not only are they darker and more violent, but two of them require supernatural elements in order to tell their stories. The inclusion of these characters could send Netflix over to the goofy side, which is something they’re very afraid of Ghost Rider would also rely on CGI too much for the studio’s taste.

It would also be difficult to incorporate the stories of these characters smoothly. Blade and Punisher are perceived to be rather one-note to carry a series on their own. The heavy level of violence is also perceived to be a risk. They want a “hard PG-13,” instead of an R. And since none of the Defenders actively kill, throwing Punisher into the mix could be a challenge.

It would be a challenge… if Marvel TV approached The Punisher as a hero who belongs with The Defenders. But what if they approached him correctly - as a grey area bad guy who gets in the way of The Defenders?

It’s not obvious to readers today, but The Punisher was introduced as a villain (in the same year that Death Wishcame out, which means America was hot for vigilantes in 1974). He was willing to kill gangsters, something that was incredibly unusual in the comic book world in the 70s, and in his first appearance he was actually trying to kill Spider-Man, who was wanted for the murder of Norman Osborne.

That’s the right angle to take with The Punisher on Netflix - have him be after one of The Defenders. Daredevil is your best bet, and you would have Daredevil fight a villain to the death in season two - not really murder him, but do one of those oh-so-comic book things where the villain gets stuck in the death trap he created for our hero. It’s a fist fight in a collapsing building and only a badly injured Matt Murdock makes it out alive! Whatever the cause, have The Punisher set his sights on DD and come at him with deadly force. Or bring in The Punisher as he hunts the assassin Elektra, sticking Matt between these two.

The Punisher really works in the world established in the Daredevil show because the question of lethal force has been so important from the start. Having a guy doing the right thing - stopping legitimate evildoers - but in the wrong way is dramatically interesting. It could make for a great schism between The Defenders, as some of them point out the results The Punisher is getting with his methods. There’s a great ethical debate that exists in the comic book Marvel Universe, one where characters like Spider-Man and Daredevil and Captain America allow The Punisher - surely one of the most prolific serial killers in the history of the world - to operate right under their noses. You would assume that the New York City based Avengers could deal with Frank Castle over the course of a lunch hour… if they wanted to.

I’m no fan of The Punisher as a regularly appearing character with his own title (the ethical quandry he presents the heroes actually, in my opinion, breaks the heroes), but in the limited series world of the Netflix shows he’s a great foil. Bringing in supernatural characters could be a challenge for the Netflix tone, but The Punisher is so correct for this world I have to believe we will see him before 2017.

A Look Inside Marvel's 'Phase 2' Of Netflix Shows!

By Umberto GonzalezJune 2, 2015

There’s no doubt that TV is in a weird place. Feature films have become king, and are only grudgingly cooperating with their counterparts on the small screen, leaving them mere scraps to work with. Instead of being in on the entire process, television programs are forced to adjust their series in order to keep up with the movies.

Some people have come to believe that the TV side of big superhero franchises’ are being pulled along for the ride. According to some of the latest chatter, they may have a point. Studio execs and writers have begun to feel as though the television side of the interconnected universe is more akin to an anchor than anything else. Their hugely successful cinematic universe and brand took years to build up. Rumor has it that Kevin Feige over at Marvel looks down on the TV side of the franchise, but has come to accept it as somewhat of a “necessary evil,” since Disney demands it. And with ABC insisting on getting their words in, it appears that there may be too many cooks in the kitchen for everyone’s tastes.

There are other non-Netflix series in development as well, which will only complicate things further on down the road. Titles like Cloak and Dagger, Ms. Marvel and a Hulk prequel are all coming our way. Expect more fireworks behind the scenes soon.

One can see why the TV side feels like they have to fight for relevance. They are trying to bring secondary characters in from movies so that their shows feel connected to what is happening on the big screen. Meanwhile, the actors on TV would love to be part of the movie side, but so for the studio has all but ignored them.

Inhumans
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been using the Inhumans recently, but that might change once the Inhumans movie scheduled for 2019 comes along. It’s a good bet the movie will ignore all or most of what the TV show has done.

The Netflix Wildcard
At this point, ABC is only involved with the Netflix side of the Marvel Universe to save face. It’s a vanity credit. Marvel and its skilled writing team have complete control. None of the silly network mandates are in place, leaving the writers to tell a smarter, grittier and more serialized story.

Daredevil was much more popular than anybody expected. The show has soared, both with critics and viewers. Netflix is hesitant to release exact numbers, but rest assured, both Netflix and Marvel are quite satisfied with the results. Still, that hasn’t stopped a number people around the net from attempting to break down the numbers.

The next Netflix series, AKA Jessica Jones, will feature a great deal of crossover with Daredevil, partly because more actors are cast. Daredevil was in production before anyone else was cast, which is why there were no other appearances.

Netflix Phase II
Marvel is planning a Phase II that will include Defenders, however this won’t take place until 2017. As of right now, the plan is for two or three Netflix series a year, which means that we won’t get Defenders until 2017.

Daredevil season 2 is coming, but won’t air for a while. As for those Elektra rumors and the leaked audition tapes? They’re real. Elektra is coming.

The powers that be at Marvel have also been toying with the idea of adding characters like Punisher, Blade and Ghost Rider, but there are risks with each of those characters.

It’s far more likely that we’ll see a cameo and backdoor pilot. If it were to go well, like DC did with Firestorm on The Flash this year, it could lead to a new series.

The powers that be in Marvel’s TV universe, on the Netflix side anyways, are working hard to get film actors to cameo. Right now, they are pulling hard for Dr. Strange to appear in the Defenders series. However, that’s an item on the wish list that may never come to fruition. It’s far more likely we’ll see a supporting character come over to bridge things.

The final pipe dream we’re mentioning today is a limited Netflix movie or mini-series that would feature characters like Hawkeye or Black Widow. This could feature both TV and movie characters, effectively serving as a bridge between two worlds. Because so many planets would need to align, this is also very unlikely.

When you get right down to it, the TV side of the equation has much more to lose. Because of that, they’re trying to stay relevant. No one wants to look like they’re playing second fiddle, which is hard enough when you’re going up against massive blockbusters like The Avengers.
Finally, it’s a given that Jeph Loeb will not be calling the shots forever. Right now, there are plans to find a successor for when he does retire, which will probably be within the next few years.

There's a big panel at NYCC today for the Netflix Marvel stuff. The actors who play Daredevil, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones are all there, hopefully they will surprise us and announce who is playing Iron Fist and the actor is there as well.

no casting announcement but they did show a teaser for Daredevil season 2 (featuring glimpses of Elektra and Punisher) and the pilot episode for Jessica Jones.

It was also revealed that Carrie Anne Moss is playing Jeryn Hogarth, a character who has major ties to Iron Fist in the comics. So they are at least setting him it up, it seems.

It was an awesome episode right? My boy was the the guy that walked up the stairs right passed Krysten and Carrie Anne at the firm when they were chatting. :yess:
