Looks good! Can't wait to get him! Hopefully war machine has the same clear bits to match.
I feel like this is a social experiment by Hot Toys to determine if there's any line at all at which point collectors won't drop $400 so long as it says Iron Man on the box. I'll grant them this though: the base is cool.I wouldnt buy this **** for 40 nevermind 400.
Wait it's already starting to yellow.
This is complicated by the fact that this figure was designed in collaboration with an artist for whom the whole clear plastic shell is part of their style. And people who’ve said they hate the look have also said they’re buying it anyhow. So I would not expect Hot Toys to take any feedback to heart here, no.There are a few rare instances I can remember of Hot Toys listening to any feedback. You guys think there's any chance they'll do it here?

I'd have to agree regarding the artist argument.
Although I can't see it being that hard for them to make the currently non-removable clear plastic parts removable. Therefore people could keep the clear parts on as intended if they wanted to, or remove all or as many they would like.
But at this point knowing Hot Toys they'll probably keep it as it is, and leave the rest to customisers to show anyone who wants to how remove those final clear pieces.
Can’t also rule out the possibility that the collaboration will bring in all-new collectors in the Asian market where this may be genuinely popular. I cannot fault them for catering to specific markets when I’m begging them to revisit 80s classic American sci-fi characters who are a total niche compared to their high-volume figures like Iron Man, Dark Knight, Mandalorian, etcYep everyone ******* but still hands over their money anyway. Can't expect change if you just go along with it anyway.

I agree with you on that.
I think when so many of us have adverse reactions to a figure or hate/or are confused by a design choice it is easy to forget that many people globally might find that same figure or design choice really interesting or compelling ...and more than worthy of their cash.
I think this is as objectively bad choice for a figure if there ever was one.
Yes some may really like it. But I think 75% of collectors do not.
