Canadians may want to check out ToyTrove. He is based out of Ontario but can ship and has excellent prices.

Just shoot him a message and let him know Sanjai referred you.

Alright I'll bite, One, it would depend on the Flash PF, considering you're comparing this sculpt to one that hasn't been released yet and the concept art that was teased wasn't remotely near this, and Two, What actually makes Daredevil a "super"hero has nothing to do with his Physical abilities anyway as his abilities are sensory based. So any pose, unless they somehow found a good way to sculpt his sonar sight, won't give you a valid perception of his abilities.

Man, is that seriously your argument? If it is, I suggest a check-up, cause you have surely lost all your senses.

As for Sideshow moving to selling statues without EX's, they would definitely lose my business over it, but not for the reason you are thinking. I buy from SS because it's the only place to get the exclusive, everything else can be gotten cheaper from other venues. So why pay extra to Sideshow for the same piece you can get $30-$50 cheaper somewhere else. I'll still be buying the statue, just not from them.

This is exactly why SSC will continue to make EX statues. It's not about a cool EX feature for collectors (although, when done right it's awesome), it's about SSC's bottom line. Ordering direct from SSC at retail is what EX features are all about.

They could also either keep sales exclusively in house or stop selling direct altogether if they want to stop selling EX's and not have to compete with other sales outlets.

Good lord... DD is leaning over considerably. Height is only relevant if standing straight. Rhino is 18". Anyone going to say he is too small?
Yes it's obviously shorter because he's leaning forward but it has a huge effect on shelf presence.
I highly doubt anyone is saying it's too small for 1:4, it's what it will look like on display that counts.

For me this will be more suited to the top of a cabinet, about to pounce, rather than being inside it.

From what I have been hearing from local retailers, Sideshow is putting the squeeze on them, restricting their ordering quotas, cutting down their wholesale pricing, & generally playing hardball. Now this is for Canadian vendors, don't know if this applies to the USA & beyond.

You get it before retailers
Easier to get replacement parts
Can use coupons or reward points to bring the price down

For me, there are no local stores that sell these for less. All the stores that i know of that do sell SS stuff get it months later...meaning less chance for getting a replacement if needed.

At the end of the day, I order direct from SS to get rewards, get the product in hand quicker, deal direct with SS if something goes wrong...and it ends up costing me about the same as ordering locally anyway.

Our retailers in Canada tend to put giant markups on what they carry in store. It is cheaper for me to buy directly from SSC, and that is not counting the reward points.

As an exmaple, one of my LCS has a Spider-Woman PF for $550 when she was still in stock at SSC. This was also when our dollar was on parity with the US currency. I don't know how they justify a $225 markup.

Thanks, guys. I was just curious. I've only bought an out of production piece of SSC's from another vendor before. Just didn't know, with the lack of an EX, if there were better deals to be had, as some threads the guys always talk about, "I'll just get the reg from so and so, for 30-50 dollars less," or something along those lines.

I love when people make off handed comments on the back end of conversations without any context. Good job

Stating that DD's abilities cannot be depicted in the physical sense/pose is a laugh at best. If he had no physical strengths/abilities, his sensory powers would only serve him well when detecting danger, & running in the opposite direction. Surely not 'the man without fear'. Is that enough context for you?

Photoshop manip by newsilverhawk over at SF. It actually looks quite good, lol.

The point was, if you read the statement before, was that his physical attributes are not what make him "super". And why do you seem to think he's running in the opposite direction? How do you know he isn't running towards danger? And yes, much better.

Their current set up works well for them, I'm sure. Selling REGs at a small discount through ADs allows SSC a much wider customer base and the EXs allow SSC to sell pieces direct at full retail. If the formula wasn't working for them, I'm sure they would have went all AD or all direct if it helped their bottom line. Some characters are tough to come up with switch out EX parts. Gladiator Hulk is one of those pieces. What switch out pieces can be added to that statue? This DD could have had a switch out Murdock portrait but the running pose doesn't really work well for that look (IMO). Also, SSC can easily milk this sculpt and release a yellow variant. Hell, SSC dropped a ridiculous Odin sword on us as an EX for their modern Thor PF. I mean, who's going to display Thor with a sword instead of Mjolnir? Was there really any reason for an Odin sword EX except to be able to sell a 1000 modern Thor PFs at retail? I truly believe the current set up isn't going anywhere for a long time.

At this point, I can only wish you well, & hope you enjoy the statue.

I don't disagree with you in the slightest.
