Not too quickly I think. Many people don't seem to give a **** about the Eternals. They can do whatever they want to those characters with little backlash...

Most sentiment around the world... "The Eternals?? Who the **** are they??" :rotfl

I HIGHLY doubt the Eternals will be a repeat of Guardians Of The Galaxy, that is turning an unknown group of characters into household names. Especially with all the SJW politics & diversity they seem to be cramming into this. The only chance for success is to quietly sneak Thanos into this and then hope people want to see it just for him..

I have absolutely no desire or interest in watching The Eternals. Maybe when it's added to D+. If I'm still a subscriber by then that is..

I don't care. Another movie about super-uber powered who are apparently all dressed in tight spandex AND just sat around through the events of IW/EG like they were having a smoke break...then there's all the forced PC stuff and looks like Jon Snow has that perpetually worried expression again.

I'd watch it sure; but wouldn't make an effort to see in theater without lots of spoilers and review comments first.

[...]I won't watch anything else from this showrunner without reading a lot of reviews first.

Same. I don't trust his ability nor do I think he respects the material. What the hell were Feige and company thinking?

I'm through giving this genre stuff a pass for any reason. Last superhero media I found genuinely entertaining is Invincible on Amazon Prime. The MCU just ran outta my good will and patience.

Yeah, its a no go for me with Eternals. No interest. It would take a lot of positive reviews relating specifically to characters and story, to get me to see it in the theater. I've not heard a single thing about it that interests me in the slightest.

I'm not bothering to subscribe to D+ now, after reading all the spoilers with Falcon and Winter Soldier, and Wanda Vision. Family has D+ right now, so that's how I (may) watch Loki - but not before reading spoilers.

We all know what Feige did for Marvel - but...

There's the PC Captain Marvel...now a PC FAWS...I can only guess that Feige knows people love the MCU and the characters; and as well is targeting an up-and-coming "diverse" audience and sees new revenue streams.

How much of a financial hit D+ may or may not take with older, or the more original fanbase is hard to say. Some of the strategies to cultivate a new audience have failed, like Mulan in China.

And, no-one can point a finger at D+ and say they aren't being "diverse" and not supportive of "issues". Far as I know, FWS did well enough, ratings-wise. But who knows with a second season. I bet Disney social media analysts are running numbers right now. The White Wolf thing would be a hook for Season 2, 'coz of a potential Wakanda connection. I know I wouldn't watch Falcon Cap without Bucky, because I'd be too scared of being trapped with another corny speech.:horror:horror:horror

I might go for the next Doctor Strange. Think Olsen has been an outstanding Scarlet Witch. Can't believe I'm so down on a show about my fav MCU character:crying, and another fav, but unlike SW, to me these aren't the characters, or the treatment, I was expecting:crying. I mean, I own the 1/4 scale Iron Studios statues of these guys $$$$$.

Can't even pester my comic fan bro to watch the last episode. He's looking forward to Loki the most anyway. Now I am uneasy about that one.

Dude we still have all the Russo stuff so it's all good. :) The MCU ended with all the actors' signatures at the end of EG. Maybe even SFFH if you want a little post-EG victory lap. Ignore everything after. You youngins' who didn't grow up with OT Star Wars and then the SE's and prequels have no idea how to properly compartmentalize do you, lol. ;)

least there's a safe space here:monkey3

Train fight? Are you thinking of their first fight with the Flag Smashers on top of those trucks? I suppose that looked a bit like fighting on top of a train.

Yeah, you must be right.

I thought there would be a big rousing finale showdown type event on the show since it seemed from the beginning that they were saving a lot of money showing the boat for so long and having so many cheap walk-and-talks. Guess they were just saving money.

Well if anyone black or white cant see how far we have come I would tell them to open up a history book. Its better now.. Not perfect but better.

I have talked to black people about this subject. I have members of the family that are black.. You would be surprised by some of the answers. :lol

You can say its not political but there is more to politics then just Taxes.

There is also the little bit about having feelings but that does not mean those feelings are correct if the facts don't back them.

Lets take the hot button topic of today. Unarmed Blacks being shot by cops.

The narrative by politicians and the media is that cops are singling out black people and shooting them. Never mind the fact that it is just not the case. They say it anyways and show every video they can... But Statistics dont back it up. Media chooses what to cover and politicians make their talk points for votes regardless of the facts.

I can dig up stats about police shooting and the race that gets shot. I can show examples of other races being shot while unarmed and how the media does not cover it.. Hell there was even a young white man that was killed while handcuffed because a police officer had his knee on his back and all 4 officers got off without punishment. Hard to find those stories on the news or politicians talk about those events.. Why?? Its does not push their narrative.

So yeah I don't blame Black people for being freaked out about cops and white america.. Its what we all hear all the time... All you see on the news is black's being shot.. No whites being shot.. Just the blacks.. So instead of a possible police problem.. All we hear is we have a racist police problem and a systemic race issue and then you end up with a summer of cities burning.

So hearing Sam and the writer tell their narrative in such an awkward way it seems more agenda driven then anything else.. I mean lets face it.. Disney has a track record for it.

Now they may and can still feel that way.. Who am I to say.. Perhaps it was not agenda driven and its how they feel.. I did not walk in their shoes and lived their lives. So fine.. How about this.. Their feelings and the shows writing made for some ****** TV. I was onboard with most of it.. But the speech.. My God the Speech... I can turn on MSNBC any given night and hear the same thing delivered just as badly. :lol

The two most important ones from the two mainstream comics publishers are agenda driven characters(Cap and Superman).
Its like the Black Panther again, if you don't have empathy you will feel that way when someone who fights for HUMAN RIGHTS gives a Speech and you are gonna call it SJW or agenda driven or Social Justice Warrior.

And the most ironic thing with Sam's speech is that he was not talking "black lives matter" but "all lives matter and should be treated with respect and this is the government only job".

Sam: Your Peace Keeping troops, carrying weapons, are forcing millions of people into settlements around the world, right? What do you think those people are going to call you? These labels, terrorists, refugees, thug. They?re often used to get around the question ?why.?

Senator 2: Those settlements that happened five years ago. Do you think it is fair for governments to have to support that?

Senator: Sincerely. You did your part in dealing with those terrorists. Now we?ll do ours.

Sam: Are you still going forward with resetting the borders?

Senator 2: Our peacekeeping troops will begin relocating people soon. The terrorists only set us back a bit.

Sam: You have to stop calling them terrorists.

Senator: What else would we call them?

Senator 2: Those settlements that happened five years ago. Do you think it is fair for governments to have to support that?

Sam: Yes.

Senator: And the people who reappeared only to find someone else living in their family home, they just end up homeless? I get it. But you have no idea how complicated this situation is.

Sam: You know what, you?re right, and that?s a good thing. We finally have a common struggle now. Think about that. For once, all the people who?ve been begging and, I mean, literally begging for you to feel how hard any given day is, now, you know. How did it feel to be helpless? If you can remember what it was like to be helpless and face a force so powerful, it could erase half the planet. You wouldn?t know that you were about to have the exact same impact. This isn?t about easy decisions. Senator.

Sam: I?m a black man, carrying the stars and strips. What don?t I understand? Every time I pick this thing up, I know there are millions of people out there who are going To hate me for it. Even now, here. I feel it. The stares, the judgment, and there?s nothing I can do to change it. And I?m still here. No super serum. No blonde hair or blue eyes. The only power I have is that I believe we can do better.

We can?t demand that people step up if we don?t meet them halfway. You control the banks. ****, You can move borders. You can knock down a forest with an email. You could feed a million people With a phone call. But the question is, who was in the room with you when you?re making those decisions? Is it the people you?re going to impact? Or is it just more people like you?

I mean, this girl died trying to stop you. And no one has stopped for one second to ask why. You?ve got to do better. Senator, you?ve got to step up because if you don?t, the next Karli will, and you don?t want to see 2.0. People believed in her cause so much that they helped her defy the strongest governments in the world. Why do you think that is? A few people have just as much power as an insane God or misguided teenager. The question you have to ask yourself is how are you going to use it?

I’m happy now that the BW connections were removed from this show so I can add that into the IG saga to close it off.

Typed up it's even more stupid.
Again, there's some good themes there, things I would agree with, but it's so poorly written, and it offers no ideas of its own. It's just saying "be better". That is just so inane...

Well, speaking for myself, I'm gonna call it BAD WRITING. Bad disaster ****/soap opera/mediocre fan fiction level writing.

And no-one wants to hear Captain America whine. Pull yourself together, man. You're friggin' Captain America:thwak. All leaders, bosses, and the IRS are hated. Goes with the territory. You just told every MCU bad guy/woman that all they need to do is fry your electronics and ur done. Telling the next villain that aims a missile at you "to do better" ain't gonna work out.:acme

The two most important ones from the two mainstream comics publishers are agenda driven characters [...]

A lot of people cry 'agenda' to one degree or another and don't like what they're seeing in their comic book media, but I've stated a couple of times my problem isn't the messaging -- championing diversity, inclusion, egalitarianism and compassion are *my* values -- my problem is the ham-fisted execution of these ideas while eviscerating developed characters and trying to make me sympathize with idiots and murderers.

It's like the script was written with a pack of crayons and a couple pounds of weed. The lame fight choreography and poor casting really didn't help, but the biggest problem was the script.

And what do you want him to do?
Finish racism with a punch?

Sam speach is all about what we are living now, with Covid and lack of fund in health care in all over the world, and guess what this is all government fault by not taking care of the people.
There are country who are dealing better than most in a situation that the wisest thing would be a united world against this virus.
We are ignoring that the most problems that affect society is lack of government, they care more about profits than the quality of life.

Sam is a military veteran, activist, counselor to veterans with PTSD, hero and now Captain America, he have to ask the question but it isn't his job to know the answer, he can fight Thanos but he does not have the power to change or make laws.

Sam did not whine, he literally did make a stand and told them to do better in their face in public.

Steve passed the torch to someone who turned out to be more interested in lecturing than leading by example.

I guess he can finally cross "be like George Lucas" off that little list he had, lol.

So trying to talk to Karli instead of just killing her like Walker wanted to isn't leading by example? He showed violence isn't always the best approach to a situation. How is that not leading like Steve did? Even Steve had his corny speeches and lectures.
