Woke Disney studios is following woke Marvel publishing’s lead.
Have you seen the new X-men?
If the MCU goes down that path they can kiss the fans and profits good bye.

The mcu is already going down that route they have been slowly but surely replacing all the male avengers with female characters. The next Avengers flick is going to be a full on woke girl power **** show just like that cringeworthy scene in End game. Get ready for Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Rescue, Shuri Pantha, Spectrum and Lady Thor lol

I for one can't wait for a mutant band, a mutant who manages a sub-reddit, a mutant who has an instagram or, wait for it... the mutant who has tik tok!

Quick Hashtagerella#, make Apokolips look stupid in a Vine, share it with his friends until he succumbs to crippling depression and needs counselling, then we can strike while the iron is hot!

Meanwhile Peter Parker is dying and passing on his web shooters to Patricia Palker, she didn't want this responsibility or mantle, but the new Avengers quota needs her now more than ever.

What, you don't like Isolationist Racial Supremacists who have Island-Wide Orgies?

Look at that, the Genocidal Conqueror Apocalypse and all of his favourite friends, including Mind-Rapist Xavier, Genocidal BiPolar Wacko Magneto and Bloodthirsty Hypocritical Assassin Wolverine! Oh, and right next to them is Gorgon, the HYDRA-Affiliated Bloodthirsty Monster! And who can forget Emplate, the literal Vampire Cannibal?! Boy, now these are what I call people I can get behind!

Seethe more, Flatscan, the world is ours! MUTANT AND PROUD!

Kidding aside, it's at least interesting from a story perspective. Muties have been insufferable for nearly two decades, now at least they're fun. The new lore is a fine addition, the current dynamic where they're all united is different compared to Utopia and the such, and the stories aren't as cliche as they were. I keep tabs on it even though I've dropped the Big 2 (bar Doom's appearances) due to Hickman. The rest of the tie ins and titles range from awful to mediocre though, so that's a shame. Still, Post-SW the X-Verse was downright absymal. The last time I liked the stories was... Maybe Gillen's run. Yeah, that was fun. But AvX came in and ruined it all...

As for the MCU, I don't know. HiX-Men are selling better than they have in, what, a decade? And it's a great way to explain why there were no muties running around throughout the MCU thus far. The problem is that it's a pretty hard sell to the average joe. X-Fans are demented so they literaly self-insert as the "**** Superior" and look down on all the "subhumans" (seriously, X-Fans have always had a victim complex but Post-HiX-Men the forums are downright mental) from their computer monitors. But the average joe isn't interested in that. Kids aren't interested in that. It's a huge departure from what the GA is used to as well.

Honestly, I have no idea how you can insert the random muties who get powers when they reach puberty. Even if Xavier mindwiped everything or whatever, you'd still have constant cases of new muties emerging. If they pull a "oh yeah, there were literally people turning to lava monsters to blocks down every Wednesday and giant robots are running about, but, like, we never saw them!" it'll be stupid and ruin the narrative. I'm starting to think a universal merge is the only choice they have left.

Oh, yeah, F&WS. It's okay. Predictable. Seen better, seen worse. Waiting for Zemo.

You jest, but that's literally the plot of the "Children Of The Atom" book. Teens who look up to the muties and LARP as them. And they have Instas and whatever.

This new Hickman's Dawn of X is one of the best run from the mutants. If you guys like X-men, i really recommend you guys to give a shot without bias.

My bad. Not many people keep up with current cape**** these days so I figued it was a shot in the dark.

The Big 2 in general need to shut down already. There's no point in any of the drivel they publish. It's been decades upon decades, just let them die.

I disagree. If you were an X-Fan, you won't like this. If you're an X-Stan, you'll love this because you get to vicariously live through them as the Ubermensch who are trashing the "subhumans" or, as they call them, "flatscans". If you're apathetic towards the X-Men, I think you're more likely to get into this as a purely Sci-Fi book. If you ignore all the non-Hickman stuff, anyhow.

I think its you who are not an X-fan, this Dawn of X is the dream that Xavier and Magneto was trying to achieve since Uncanny X-Men (1963) #1, i am soo sorry that you did not like it but is okay everyone has their taste.
"MUTANT AND PROUD" is how everyone should fell about who they are, black, white, yellow, straight, gay, trans and etc.
And about Humans in the recent x-books, many Humans are racist against their own race, they have been oppressing mutants since the beginning, in this book with the mutants becoming a nation, they are demanding to be tratred with RESPECT, there are not Isolationist Racial Supremacists, they are just caring for themselves now using human law.

Haha no worries mate, I don't really closely follow but I've heard of this new run. I thought it was a joke at first. Oh well, doesn't affect me - as soon as MArvel studios starts making films like this I'm out. I'm already starting to go out of the Marvel films and shows, phase 3 ended perfectly, my favourite phase was the first, so all my favourite characters got wrapped up nicely.

I don't care to watch Bucky get a girlfriend and Sam to get a loan. I certainly don't care about larpers moderating a sub-reddit.

But you care about Lois getting coffee?

Magneto literally started as a Mutant Supemacist. He had a goose-stepping army with armbands, for God's sake:

Retcons aside, Magneto WAS a Supremacist. Yes, he flip-flops. Yes he's been an Anti-Hero. Still, he dreamed of Mutant Supremacy. Regardless of his backstory, he wasn't Xavier.

Let's see. They live in an island which is a "No-Human" Zone. They consider themselves Superior to normal humans. They publicly claim they'll replace and outbreed them. That sounds pretty Supremacist to me...

If none of that comes off as Racial Supremacy to you, I don't know what to say.

We're literally talking about a race of WMDs who destroy whole blocks when they get a boner, but giving them a cure is somehow sacrilege because... reasons. It's fictional. You don't have to take PR so literally. And there's a clear distinction between X-Fans and X-Stans.

Personally speaking, as a human, I'm not really buying that this

is "the next step of human evolution", nor am I rooting for it. The entire Mutant "Species" makes no sense. You can't get a "race" from an X-Gene. Said X-Gene makes less sense than literal magic. "Muh evolution" makes 0 sense when muties are either dangerous WMDs who can kill people just by existing, or just a guy with three mouths and an **** in his forehead. The allegory makes no sense, since, last I checked, no person of any race or sexuality run the risk of waking up one day, going to take a leak, and blowing up the block because their mutant power is blowing **** up with their exploding piss. But this is very likely for a mutant.

When that is a very real possibility, then I think "hey, better get registered and vaccinated" isn't opression but common sense. No **** the ones who won the lottery like JEEEEEEAAAAAN or Storm will be "Mutant & Proud". I doubt anyone wants to be Beak though. Or Eye Boy. Or that kid fom Ultimate X-Men who emmited toxicity which burned everyone. It's just basic logic. Sentinels are just outlandish nonsense that literally cannot even function. Seriously, only a moron would build them if he wanted to hunt down anyone. They're not effective and they'd be a tax and collateral damages nightmare.

TL;DR Mutants are a poorly thought out cape**** concept and it's useless to apply real world terms to them.

So, I'm just enjoying the crazy ride and waiting for the Post-Humans to BTFO them.

I'm not really willing to debate anything further, since X-Men is a touchy subject due to the hamfisted and illogical allegory that everyone insists upon, so I'll leave it at this. But last time I checked, I wasn't born with wings and fifty eyes all over my body, nor did I wish to have my offspring be human toads with a **** hanging from their chin, so I really see no reason to root for the insane cultists who are partnering up with an Ancient, Genocidal Warlord, a literal Nazi Scientist, and a bunch of Cannibals and Assassins. But that's just me.

Anyway, the thread's been derailed rather heavily already, so I'm done.

I'm honestly bored of any sort of Pop Culture media myself. It's all a slog to get through, even the minimal amount I still keep up with. It's all so bland and banal. All I'm looking forward is Doom in the MCU so that I can buy the Hot Toys dolly.

I enjoyed this last episode. However, while their chemistry is generally good, Sam feels more of a ****** to me. At this point, I find him borderline unlikeable. I know that Bucky may have been ignoring his calls/texts, but Sam is sort of forgetting the trauma Bucky has gone through. He's even worse than Rhodey in Endgame.

Loved the latest episode! I like how they took John Walker from "I hate that guy's face" to "Hey, he seems like a good guy, I'm kind of rooting for him..." back to "I hate that guy" :)

For me, cons:

1) Too much messaging IMO; a whole list of historical issues against African American was trotted out. One or two issues in a series or movies IMO is plenty - like Civil War raised the guilt/innocence question and the harm superheroes do. Too much messaging and I start to tune out, especially if I am watching for entertainment value. If I want to watch a documentary, I watch a documentary. I know Spellman said he wasn't gonna overdo it (more or less) but I think that was overdoing it. (Of course, if u don't know the history, u probably wouldn't notice, which says a lot about the writing quality.)

2) Felt like Bucky was getting a bit nerfed and/or off character; e.g. seemed bullheaded and impulsive; which historically speaking to me seems off. A trained assassin and sniper IMO wouldn't behave like that. And yeah, Sam sounding a bit superior at times seemed a little off. Not like Bucky Barnes wasn't a sargeant and/or telling the TWS crew what to do and/or carrying out major assassinations by himself, so.....:google

Pros:

1) Liked Walker a lot more than I thought I would - whether he turns out bad or good - in that IMO a sharply drawn character. Dunno what I was expecting - maybe someone kinda weaselly:lol. Very cool.

2) IMO the writing is excellent:clap e.g. am not getting bored or picking up trite cliche lines. Excellent performances. Cinema quality production; better than some big budget theater films I've seen.

3) Some of the Falcon/Bucky interactions are funny AF.

I must be feelin' real positive, 'coz can't wait for the next episode. Whether I like what goes on or not, it's a high quality production and Stan and Mackie, as well as the other actors, are IMO outstanding.

Yes, that was a good one. So what do we think is Walker's story? He definitely seems enhanced, but I'm guessing he may not have gotten that way via some U.S. government sanctioned super soldier program - like he went the black market route / made a deal with the devil. I was going to read up on his comic origins, but something tells me it's been tweaked for the MCU anyway so I figured why bother lol...

I'm probably way off base, but given the Flag Smashers emergence in eastern Europe I can't help but wonder if at the end of the series we'll find out that Dr. Doom was the one creating the super soldiers & bankrolling their operations. I could see Feige deciding to skip his origin story given his previous cinematic incarnations and introducing him now to build some major buzz (rather than waiting on a Fantastic 4 or X-Men film). Consolidating his power while the world fell into blip chaos seems like a Doom move, so maybe he's using the Flag Smashers to distract people from his evil machinations. Muahahaha!!
