I thought the first episode was just okay but I'm hooked now! I can't believe I'm warming to Russell's John Walker and was not expecting Battlestar! :rock

The Bucky/Falcon banter was hilarious! :lol

Falcons line to Bucky has been bugging me all day when he said to him why are you making such a big deal about something that has nothing to do with you.

What!

WHAT!!

Yes, that was a good one. So what do we think is Walker's story? He definitely seems enhanced, but I'm guessing he may not have gotten that way via some U.S. government sanctioned super soldier program - like he went the black market route / made a deal with the devil. I was going to read up on his comic origins, but something tells me it's been tweaked for the MCU anyway so I figured why bother lol...

The Cap No More/Walker storyline from the comics in the late 80's is my all time favorite Cap run. Part of me wants to say quick run out and get the Epic Collection featuring issues 332-350 in order to get the full untainted story (Walker is much more badass in the comics) but then the other part of me is thinking that if you're enjoying this show so far to just wait and let the story play out unspoiled. They've already changed a number of big things for sure (originally it was Steve turning in his shield with Falcon trying to get him to change his mind) but there's still some awesome moments from that run that could play out pretty much the same and you might want see that cold.

Khev I agree that the 80's storyline they are drawing from is the best one. I like how Walkers Captain America suit is inspired by Steve's Black Captain Suit. The use of the red stripes and the off center star are a nice homage and the exposed ears on the cowl. Battlestar was a nice touch. I am really digging this show and I have ordered both posters from the disney store. Can't wait for Zemo and Sharon Carter.

That was *&^%.:thwak

Except guess they needed some kind of lead-in to Bucky coming out with his fear of Steve being wrong about him, which actually is a nice tie-in to a line from Civil War - and yeah, it makes sense that someone would worry about their friend's faith in them.

Hope the writers improve with the heavy-handedness trying to establish Falcon as a-strong-character-even-tho-he's-not-a-supersoldier blah blah. It gets weird coz didn't Sam treat traumatized vets?
Since Bucky and Falcon are 2 favs of mine, some of the stuff IMO is kinda BS. The snark is hilarious tho.

On the plus side, Walker and Hoskins are better characters than I expected. Looking forward to more Zemo and Sharon.

Ordered the series posters 11 x 17" off the 'bay. And, OK, 2 keychains:cool:

Was gonna use as backgrounds on the shelf for the HTs; except that'll be like a 2-year wait.:monkey2

Totally agree. :duff

Not to go all "WandaVision" with the cameo theories but I can't help but wonder if they'll follow the comics and
have Evans return as the Red Skull resurrected in a cloned Steve Rogers body pulling the strings behind everything.

^^^^^ MASSIVE POTENTIAL SPOILER IF YOU'RE UNFAMILIAR WITH THE COMICS ^^^^

Yeah, I think

I like my Dr. Doom theory better lol. But if it is Red Skull, what's your theory for how he escapes Vormir? I imagine it would have had to occur while Hawkeye was borrowing the soul stone, but I don't recall any additional spaceships parked nearby...

Yeah your guess would be as good as mine.

In the comics

the Red Skull "died" in a previous issue and then was brought back in a cloned body of Steve by Arnim Zola, complete with super-soldier abilities. He was a straight up "evil Steve Rogers" for a short while until Walker made him inhale a faceful of his own death dust melting away his skin and hair and leaving him with a REAL red skull for a head.

But I guess TFA already made the MCU RS a super-soldier of sorts so maybe going down that road again would be too redundant. Plus like you said in the movies he isn't technically dead in the first place. Who knows, maybe if Old Endgame Steve came from a separate timeline they'll just have him followed by a RS from that universe, lol.

Maybe instead of

Red Skull they'll introduce/reimagine his daughter, Sinthea Schmidt. I vaguely recall her being a fun character with Crossbones in one of the Captain America arcs (Death of maybe??).

Have him peaking around the corners lol

Ya man i don't like falcon so far in this show, the way bucky caught the shield too during the fight.. its his shield damnit sam aint worthy the way he is talking. He knows he cant wield it anyway he would get his *** wooped. Old man cap had to be senile when he gave Sam the shield, he prolly thought he was bucky lol

You see they way bucky looked at derpy captain america when he saw him with the shield- he wanted kill his *** on the spot and take the shield back. Sam be like oh well, it is what it is.. “Remind me what rule number 2 is again??””

It’s ok so far. I’m in the minority, but I much more enjoyed the beginning of WV

:lol :lol

And in the comics that this show is based on Bucky was long dead so Sam was kind of right that technically this should have nothing to do with him, lol.

I think the MCU Infinity Saga is .000035% accurate to the source material lol

It would be a fun watch if they went that way for sure. Walker losing it in the comics with the Watchdogs really showed the differences in viewpoints with Rogers. I am curious to see what they do with Walker in the show. I wonder if he will get the Power Brokers to give him some serum for the super strength. We really should make a lot of theories for JYE to ponder late at night.

Actually by the MCU story so far Bucky is the last person to be worth to wield the shield, you have to watch Civil War again. Steve gave the Shield to Sam for the same reason that he receive the super soldier serum and not a better fit soldier.
To become what Captain America stands for, you have to have heart and values/ethics, since the serum amplifies everything that is inside, so good becomes great; bad becomes worse. Thats why Walker and Bucky arent fit to wield the shield.

Dr. Abraham Erskine in TFA: "This is why you were chosen. Because the strong man who has known power all his life, may lose respect for that power, but a weak man knows the value of strength, and knows... compassion.Whatever happens tomorrow, you must promise me one thing. That you will stay who you are, not a perfect soldier, but a good man."

Bucky had one of the most powerful lines of dialogue so far not just on D+ but in all of the MCU!

If he was wrong about you that means he was wrong about me!

Ouch!

Yeah, but both Bucky and Falcon have wielded the shield in the comics. Like, BuckyCap. It's not that some of the directors and writers don't know that. And Bucky had the shield for a good reason in the comics.

*Shrug*. There's *&^%$ I feel like I just gotta roll with in these screen adaptations. Personally I'd rather have Bucky stay the Winter Soldier, because I like the Winter Soldier. Assassin in the shadows etc. Film-wise IMO it's unquestionable that James Barnes is a good man; otherwise he wouldn't have broken his programming and/or beat Steve to death and/or let him drown and/or become a hired mercenary later or something. Instead he went off to live in a *&&^% apartment and haunt farmers markets in Romania.

Anyway it wouldn't be beyond Feige and company to string folks along, in the end. Like neither Falcon nor Bucky end up with the shield at the end of this series - maybe. Based on Falcon saying there's all these rules Captain America - or the military, has to follow.

Plus Feige isn't saying - except that it would be a spoiler for upcoming projects - whether FWS as a 2nd season or not, tho Loki is already locked in for a 2nd season. So Marvel could just put the shield back in a museum and everyone has to wait for a movie or another series. More $$$ for Disney.
