Here they all come, scampering from their cribs to protect their dreams.

Funny thing is, even if you were 8 when Goonies came out, you'd be 40 now! You'all MUST have grown passed this inane movie.

OK, that's it, I'm out.

j/k

what really makes me not want to see this is that people say Spiderman 2 is better.

Best to take the opinions of chronic threadcrappers with a grain of salt. :)

Vader was in ANH for 12 minutes. Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs for 16 minutes. Keaton was sinister but thankfully never went full Beetlejuice. I'd say he's a contender for best cbm villain in the last decade *not* named Heath Ledger. I only wish that his battle scenes had a little more oomph to them.

That said from what I know of your preferences Wor-Gar I have a hard time picturing you liking this movie. It doesn't seem like It's be up your alley.

So from 2007 to 2017?

Hmm...I can probably think of 10 villains that were better, without including Ledger :chase

Totally not testing you, but I'm curious who.

In no particular order

Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day Lewis) in There Will Be Blood - won Oscar for best actor

Anton Chigurh ( Javier Bardem) in No Country for Old Men- won Oscar for supporting actor

Sweeney Todd (Johnny Depp) - nominated for best actor

Hans Landa ( Christoph Waltz) in Inglourious Basterds - won Oscar for supporting actor

Loki

Magneto ( Michael Fassbender ) - First Class

Bernie Ross (Albert Brooks) in Drive

Bane (Tome Hardy) in TDKR

Silva (Javier Bbardem) in Skyfall

Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio) in Django Unchained

Stephen (Samuel L Jackson) in Django Unchained

Epps (Michael Fassbender ) in 12 Years of Slave - nominated for supporting actor

Kahn (Benedict ) in Start Trek into Darkness

Lou Bloom (Jake Gyllenhaal ) in Nightcrawler

Terence Fletcher (Jk Simmons) in Whiplash - won best supporting actor

The Winter Soldier ...looks cooler :lol

There's that Harry Potter villain or villains too, but I don't watch those films, but they seem popular.

Oh...I didn't see the comic book part :lol

I think I need glasses. First it was that thumb, and now this :gah:'

edit

:lol :lol

I'm just saying in the sea of mediocre cbm villains we've gotten the last decade I find Keaton's Vulture to be a genuinely decent one again.

I still put Keaton behind Loki, Bane, Magneto, and TWS.

Last 10 years I'd probably go Ledger, TWS, and then Vulture. I thought the Homecoming car scene was better than Fassbender killing the old Nazis in the bar. But not on the level of TDK interrogation or Winter Soldier's shootouts.

This is one time where I think seeing Keaton's face in costume instead of covering him up would've benefited his character more.

He needed one more meaty menacing scene.

Yep or an action sequence on the level of the car scene. One additional moment might have put him shoulder to shoulder with Ledger and Bucky. Still probably wouldn't have matched Ledger but it would have been close.

He even looked badass just walking around in his furry bomber jacket, lol.
