Pretty good breakdown ZaCH. Right now I have the action scenes as a bit of a strike against the film, visually they looked great but weren't as intense as I would have liked. Especially contrasted with Holland's dramatic scenes. He really turned on the emotion when trapped under the roof and pleading with Toomes to drop the bombs but I felt that the action never quite met that level of drama.

And for me the 3D was a definite plus because of the vertigo inducing climbing scenes.

With regard to the timeline did you not catch that after Cap's first PSA the gym teacher said "I'm pretty sure he's a war criminal now but I have to show you this anyway?" Also Peter's video diary at the beginning showed how the film partially overlapped with the CW airport battle.

See, I thought the action scenes were great, not because of the stakes, but because of the motion and choreography. It really looked like how I imagined spider-man moving when I would read the comics as a kid. The part you mentioned where he was stuck, was a fantastic moment. You felt like a kid in a dire situation watching that. Very intense.

I'm not the biggest fan of 3D, but my girl is. So when she cracked the "3D or not" question, I opted for it. :lol

I did catch that, and that's about where I got it all lined up. (I was a little... stoned. :lol) Great line too, I think I was confused as to whether it took place after Avengers 2 or CW, with all the jumping around the first act. A second watch will clear that up for me. And since it's been a minute since I actually payed attention to an MCU flick, and not just have it on in the background.

Overall, the best we've got since CW. (I honestly think I like this more too). Can't wait for the blu.

The timeline was a little confusing at first, as to where it takes place. (I got a hang of it after I saw the new Avengers holdout.)

What bugged me about the timeline most was the whole "eight years after NY" thing - there's no reason this couldn't have taken place five years later instead.

...the best we've got since CW.

I feel like I'm the only one who didn't care for CW. :lol

CW is pretty good, I liked it.

It was long, the CGI sucked and the airport battle wasn't the best thing ever like many think, and no one died.

But, overall a solid 8-8.5/10

Some great character moments in CW.

My MCU List:

I've chosen to dismiss The Incredible Hulk from the MCU continuity and I haven't even seen Doctor Strange or Ant-Man, but I'll share my list. I'll probably get a lot of s*** for this but whatever. :lol

Iron Man 3
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Age of Ultron
Thor: The Dark World

My overall score would be around an 8.5/10

+'s
- The villain, we got a great villain. (and some surprise ones too!)
- Peter, he looked and acted like a high school kid, something none of the other spideys could pull off.
- Perfect amount of Tony Stark, he's in it less than I expected.
- The action sequences were fantastic, and Spidey's cgi looked great. I also love both suits (for the most part)
- The humor was great
- The twist

-'s
- A little long, could have been cleaned up a bit more in post.
- Khev recommended the 3D, so I pulled the trigger, didn't notice much of a difference.
- The after credits stinger (I know it was tongue and cheek, but it didn't work for me)
- The timeline was a little confusing at first, as to where it takes place. (I got a hang of it after I saw the new Avengers holdout.)

Overall one of my favorite to come out of the mcu. The more I think about how fun it was, the better of a score I want to give it.

I almost feel like this post was to bait me into hating on it so I get banned. It's tough to not really be able to go in depth how you can feel about some of the pros on your list regarding Homecoming, but hey, at least you enjoyed it.

I do think this gave us the right amount of Tony Stark. I almost felt like we got the Tony Stark from Iron Man 1 in how Downey played him.

There's really only 3 or 4 of you that actively try and sow discord by trashing things whenever someone says something positive. If you want to make the threadcrapping rule totally irrelevant and unnecessary then simply post your opinions the way 90% of the board does. Everybody has negative opinions about one thing or another and are free to share them, at length even, just don't be a **** about it. ;)

I've never seen pturtle be a **** to anyone.

Not his fault if some people have thin skin.

Some hares just can't stand being beaten by the tortoise lol

You can tell you're an millennial because "everything is about you." :lol

tbh, you're barely even here. I didn't even know you were in this thread til you showed up, let me guess, you didn't like it?

:exactly:

RIDDICK hates everything but yet people still get a long with him. :lol

I think Banner mentions breaking Harlem in the first Avengers movie.

He absolutely does.

As for the timeline issue ... yeah, they screwed it up. Unless otherwise indicated, the MCU takes place pretty much in real time. So, the Battle of New York took place in 2012, which is when Homecoming begins. It then jumps forward to the events of Civil War, which it says are "8 years later". Well, not really ... it's actually 4 years later. Though it bothers my OCD, it's not enough to make me not love the movie. I just wish they'd fix it.
