I guess they could ignore SM3 and ASM1 and pretend that the ASM2 Gwen Stacey story took place between SM1 and SM2. They'd be getting into X-Men Excel spreadsheet continuity territory but it might otherwise work. Maybe pretend that ASM2 Norman Osborne was bedridden on account of being impaled by his own glider, lol.

I always thought the difference between remake and reboot was that a remake is just a new interpretation and a reboot was "welp we ****ed up, now we're starting over"

Was it the summer hit everyone wanted? Am I going to have to hear about another frickin' reboot in 3 years time?

I don't see how THIS movie can be considered a hit.

It will end up earning less than ASM1 and 2 which did not have Stark.

Sure he will be in IW and has a sequel lined up already but in my eyes this was Marvel's first bomb which exposed the MCU burnout starting to take form.

Make no mistake about it this summer belongs to WW!

WW is just an ok movie, if anything SH might actually be the better of the 2 movies lol.

Making 104+ million MORE than Wonder Woman -- after all the 'in your face' talk -- is still really impressive. 20% more impressive.

I think more people 'talk' about WW than actually went to see it again.


We'll all see what your daughters grow up remembering in 20 years -- Beauty and the Beast or WW.

I think what sucks most about it is that this is one of Marvel's best movies, and I'm guilty, too. Ironically enough, I haven't seen this or Wonder Woman more than once. I think I saw Logan and Guardians 2 twice and that was it for comic book movies. I think Dunkirk was the only movie I saw more than once outside of that and that was only because a friend of mine wanted me to go with him.

It WAS better than WW.

It's a hit because they made it out to be better than the last two. It made around the same. It was not a bomb but boy it shows superhero fatigue in spades. Look out Thor Ragnarok- my prediction is that one will be the real MCU bomb. Good opening weekend(not fantastic) and mighty 70% drop off.
Superhero fatigue will be put to the ultimate test next summer with IW . That has everything in it's corner but maybe an audience

While there is no guarantee that Thor and BP won't suffer the same fate as Spiderman I don't think they will.

Here's why.

Everyone is waiting for Thor to have his unique masterpiece moment and TR certainly looks like it's poised to be just that.

BP, that movie is going to be huge. Think of Get Out and Girls Trip level of success 10 fold! The black population is ready to make that movie a hit without the help of the general white movie going audience. Now add in that general white movie going audience AND geeks and that movie is ready to be quite the event.

Now IW is where I think you are 100% wrong.

People on these boards who HATE the MCU are eager to see IW lol.

Marvel has truly created a participation event, everyone will just want to see what the hype is all about.

IW will be what finally rewards the fans for having to sit thru a ton of average movies.
