Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Actually, you could chalk that up to Mags and Prof. X not wanting to rely on an untested juvenile delinquent to be in charge of a situation unless there weren't other available options.

I can see that when Silver was just stealing bubble gum and arcade games, but once he successfully got Magneto out of the "most secured/guarded" place on earth, and he saved the three veterans (Wolvie, Mag, and Proff X) in less than a second without killing anyone, wouldn't that be the ultimate test for him? I mean what was Wolverine's big test to become an X Men? Maybe their egos were bruised when they saw what the kid could do so they left him behind :lol

Sooooo...How about that Spider-man, eh? :lol

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Hold up... so she is out for good? That means she has nothing to do with these movies anymore eh? Very different from what was reported a few days ago.

She meant getting fired from being the studio chief at Sony. She's still attached as a producer to any studio-produced projects she was working on while at Sony, which includes the new Spider-Man.

Article kinda makes something out of nothing, anyone and everyone who follows business news knows she was fired. You never publicly 'fire' a high level exec, you just force their resignation.

Oh, I see. That's too bad.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

So Spidey is definitely back in high school and the films are supposed to focus on his high school life as well? I'm guessing it will be similar to the Spidey cartoon series with Iron Fist, Nova, Luke Cage, etc. where Spidey is recruited by SHIELD and is a fan of all the Avengers? :lol

Was really hoping for a post college Spidey but I guess that'll never happen on screen...

Considering they will make a million more Spidey films I think they wanted to start young so that they don't have to recast so soon. If they get someone like Logan Lerman or Dylan O'Bryan to play Spidey they don't have to recast for about another 15 years, and fans will be attached to them playing Spidey having watched them play Spidey throughout his high school , college, and adult years.

Huh, yeah, that's true. I personally don't mind the idea of young Peter Parker. I actually think it would fit better in the MCU than an adult Peter that works at the Daily Bugle.

I think it probably will fit better but it's just tired and old seeing more of the same teen years of Peter/Spidey, IMO.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Adult Peter ftw. First off you have a more veteran Spidey. He has lost a lot of people, Uncle Ben, Captain Stacy, Gwen, and depending on universe, some other people you don't expect.

Also he is still hung up on Gwen and deals with MJ, which in turn is a sour relationship due to secrets and finances. His aunt is sick every other 4 minutes. He barely makes a living at the Bugle, and definitely no money as Spidey.

His entire city falls into a love/hate relationship. Some of his villains have become so psychologically ****ed because of him. In some occasions, it's his fault a villain exists.

He's often considered a great hero among the Avengers but still considered a child. He often helps others, while no one does in return. He becomes brother in laws with his boss who hates his alter ego, his nemesis eventually know who he is, and almost assassinate his aunt.

His friend is a villain to him and has died, while his father took away his true love and is the catalyst between his break up with his friend. His professor is a ****ing psychotic lizard who is on and off with Spidey.

His life just sucks, yet he dishes it out every day. High school Peter just has to deal with bullies and an alter ego persona.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Doesn't an adult Parker work better for the Civil War storyline? Isn't he a teacher at that point? I would prefer a Spideyverse that deals with Gwen already dead as well as assume he's fought a lot of the bad guys already and everyone is already established.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

They should introduce him as adult and married and then in one of his first scenes have him make a deal with Satan to go back to being a teenager. Win win for everyone.
