Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I hope Taron Egerton gets the role... he is my top choice. I wanted him for young Cyclops too, but I think he would be a better Spidey/Parker. Dylan would be OK too.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

If he can pull off an American accent he would be the best choice. (Taron)

He was amazing in Kingsman. I don't really know Dylan or Logan Lerman so I can't judge them on their acting skills.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Looks like they've confirmed Peter Parker by accident:

While fielding questions from fans on his popular tumblr account, Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada, was asked if he’d seen any visual concepts or early designs for the 2017 Spider-Man movie now on Marvel’s slate. He also was asked what he thought was the "main things [he] feels is most important" to making a successful Spider-Man film. And in his answer, Quesada tipped his cards, stating:
The trick to making any incarnation of Spider-Man great, whether comics, animation or film is Peter Parker. Get Peter’s character right and the rest falls into place.

With that, we believe Joe Quesada confirms what was mentioned in the first Marvel press release regarding the studio’s deal with Sony Pictures: The next Spider-Man – and the first version of the character made under the umbrella of the MCU – will be Peter Parker. Quesada wasn’t prompted about Peter Parker, yet he name-dropped the identity of the classic character. Again, this was mentioned in the press release, but ever since that information dropped, there have been vocal communities hoping that Marvel would transition over to Miles Morales or, even, Ben Reilly (though that contingent hasn’t been nearly as passionate as Team Miles). But it appears that Marvel will take a crack at Peter Parker with its first swing, which we believe will happen with Captain America: Civil War.

What is funny is that the slip of the tongue is getting backlash for stuff like this:

Here’s why this might be frustrating for some. Peter Parker had his chance, with two film franchises that succeeded and failed to varying degrees. The character has been played on screen by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Casual fans of the franchise and the character believe they’ve already seen Peter’s story

I must have read something just like that on quite a few sites. Personally I think it is a good move to bring it back with Peter but it's getting a lot more traction than I thought that people were upset by his direction. Some even screaming racism in the comments.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Jeez... Peters story didn't even start yet :lol there are a lot of stories that hasn't been explored yet

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Peter Parker IS Spiderman first and foremost IMO. I dont care how many times they reboot it. I want to see Spiderman, not a cheap knockoff made to be pc.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Miles definitely has an impact for the New Avengers, but it that only is the case because of everything Peter does. I am definitely okay with an older Miles being established later; but it's Peter or fail right now.

Yea well these "miles" fans seem to not know anything about the character and only want him cuz he's black and to sound cool. Black Peter I can deal with but the people who are whining about miles annoy me cuz they keep putting down Peter Parker when Peter is THE spiderman just proves they aren't fans but people who want somthing to whine about.

This, exactly.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I have no problem if they introduce Miles later in the story but Peter Parker is the one that should come first and foremost.

I think Marvel would be missing a HUGE opportunity by incorporating Miles into this film universe. They should absolutely start with Peter but then should retool Miles' origin to fit in sooner than later.

Hell even Norman deciding to repeat this process to try and create his own Spider-Man and have it misfire could easily bring him in.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I am so tired of all this PC stuff. I want classic Peter Parker in these movies. If they want a Miles film, do it as a stand alone later.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Spidey is Peter Parker, and Peter Parker is a white 'murican from Queens. Basta!

Agreed. Rebels without a real cause.

Agreed. Bring Miles in after we've seen Parker incorporated into the MCU.
