Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Thank goodness. Those hacks belong at Sony. Hopefully this means no more Marvel U movies.

I hope they aren't afraid to jostle the camera around a little bit when filming Spidey's action scenes. The cinematography in The Winter Soldier was great but it was just so damn still all the time.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

First look deals are for new content that the Russos create or source themselves, doesn't apply to Spider-Man. My guess is that this is part of the compensation package Sony pitched to get them to help out with future Spidey films. From the email hacks, we know Sony was very big on the Russos well before the Marvel/Sony deal was announced. This deal could have nothing at all to do with Spider-Man but I'm pretty sure Sony isn't ignoring the fact that the Russos are high on Marvel Studios' list and likely the frontrunners to direct Avengers 3.

Dylan O' Brien is denying the rumors

Earlier today, Dylan O'Brien was asked about the rumors, which began from a Reddit posting, while he was on the set of MTV's Teen Wolf. “Professionally, I haven’t heard anything about it,” O'Brien told BuzzFeed. “I’ve only heard from, like, [rumors] online.”

“It feels so weird to say,” O'Brien added with a chuckle. “It’s so funny. My friends from New Jersey are calling me. They’re like, what are you not telling me, dude?! Spider-Man?!”

Many people were excited by the rumor as most people know that O'Brien is a huge Spider-Man fan. “You can tell them that it’s not true,” O'Brien stated.

The problem here? The last few actors who've had denied that they are even in talks including Jared Leto for Joker, Benedict Cumberbatch for Strange hell even Paul Rudd for Ant-Man all had denials before confirmations.

So people ironically are talking the his denial with a grain of salt on top of the rumor with a grain of salt.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Dylan O'Brien seems like a good choice. Nerdy looking enough, young enough. I saw him in The Internship, not an amazing role but he was pretty good as a nerd with some attitude.

He was pretty good with action scenes in Maze Runner.

Yet more rumors spinning the mill:

It’s been revealed that Ironman (RDJ) will appear in “Captain America: Civil War” alongside Chris Evans. After Marvel and Sony struck their deal, a standalone “Spider-Man” movie was shoehorned into its schedule for 2017. Half the appeal of working Spider-Man into the MCU will be seeing him fight along side, or go head-to-head with, some pre-established characters. Many believed that the studio would roll out some lower-tier super heroes like Hawkeye to bridge the gap between "Spider-Man" and "The Avengers." However, a new report from the Latino Review has many now thinking that Ironman will throw his helmet into the ring again in 2017.

According to the report, a major part of the first standalone “Spider-Man” film, possibly titled “Spectacular Spider-Man,” will [POTENTIAL SPOILERS] have the web slinger battle Ironman. Following the all-star throw down, Parker will have to pass a sort of “audition” to join the team as an Avenger (in whatever form that looks like post-Civil War).

'Spider-Man' 2017 Rumored To Include Robert Downey Jr. As Ironman And A Battle Between The Two Heroes

This could be the announcement that he was teasing to come tomorrow.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

so what does everyone think about Drew Goddard doing the new spider-man movie? He's rumored right now and I think it's a good choice, he was going to do the sinister six and was the show runner on dare devil before pulling out to do the sinister six, so I'm all for it, cabin in the woods was good so it'll be interesting to see what he does with the character.

I liked Cabin in the Woods but who knows if he'll do well with Spider-Man. :huh

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Pass on Maguire. If Garfield got boot, I'd say it's fair for Maguire too.

Pass on Dylan though. Goddard could be interesting, still a skeptic. I wonder if it could be the whole try out, but it's pretty much a recycle of Iron Man 2. Also:
I feel like it will have a different vibe. If Cap dies in CW (which I assume), it's pretty much showing a different Tony and having Spidey kind of take over for Cap. I don't think I'd be for that. And if that's the case, I don't see why he'd need to be in CW. Clearly he will have some sort of presence and I don't see why he'd need to try out as an Avenger. That's just me.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Since Sony wants a young actor that will play the role of Peter Parker/Spier-Man for a few years, McGuire is probably out of the running. Not that he's ancient or anything. :lol

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Maguire would guarantee the return of Simmons. And since Franco's "The Interview" is the whole reason Spidey is entering the MCU they should just retcon out SM3 and bring him back too.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Tobey coming back would be amazing...

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Actually, I think it would be pretty cool to bring back Maguire. That would solve the problem of not having to do the origin again. He's well established, and we can finally have the "older" Spider-MAN that alot of people want.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I didn't care much for Tobey as Spidey. Parker, yes. But I think we're yet to find an actor with that ability to really do justice to both Spidey and his alter ego. Someone new would be better IMO.
