Thanks for the wiki entry, sometimes I forget what an awesome source of information that place is. I have to say though, I didn't read anythiing in there that really got me interested.

I somewhat remember reading the Eclipse Comics run of Miracleman in the early 80's but I was waaaaay into Uncanny X-Men at the time to care about the character.

I'm gonna have to pick up some trades or back issues and get reacquainted with Marvelman. :D

Just get your hand on Miracleman: Rebirth by Alan Moore...

Just imagine yourself in the 80's, a young kid reading book of Super-heroes like Superman, Batman, Fantastic Four....Everything is pretty, simple stories...Good guys VS the Bad guys .The bad boys always lose in the end.Good guys win every time. ....

When Suddenly, you open that new serie called Miracleman, 1st book at the comic Shop and read the 1st panels .....

Quoting Friedrich Nietzche...:google

No one was prepared at that time for the maturity, the innovation, the violence and the approach that this comic book would unleashed...Remember, this is before Watchmen, before the Dark Knight returns...

Every comic fan should at least read that run at least once in their life.

I kinda hate to say it, but hearing how revered this character is for some people, I have a feeling people aren't going to be happy with this move.

huwaaat!?...........whooo....the hell!?...........what's so miraculous about him other than looking like Ikaris!?:huh.......

the fact that Alan Moore reinvented it and it basically changed the comic world therefore its a huge deal...and a lot of people hope marvel doesnt mess it up as do I

Alan Moore didn't write the original. Mick Anglo created the character in 1954, originally intended as a UK version of Captain Marvel. Neil Gaiman and Alan Moore both reinvented the character in the Bronze Age continuing into the Modern Age. What is interesting is that both Gaiman and Todd McFarlane both claimed ownership and the court battles usually kept Miracleman from being reintroduced into the mainstream. What is more interesting is that he is an "Atomic Age" character being created in the space between the Golden Age and the Silver Age.

The Alan Moore stuff was really dark and hardcore and I'm wondering if Marvel will go that route or go for the more light-hearted side.
